Hey, I'm wondering how people jump so high in their jump smash?? Either they skip a lot or...it's natural to them. Thanks
If you want to improve jump height, there are some exercises you can do. 1. Plyometrics. Agility ladder stuff, skipping, jumping between hula hoops, through old car tires... the kind of stuff that stereotypical football practice seems to consist of. 2. Squats with weights. There are machines at the gym where you place the pads over your shoulders and do resistance squats, or you can use a bar, or hold a free weight down and in front of you. Just make sure to keep your back straight to avoid injury. 3. Skipping is great, but you probably ont see very fast results unless augmented with something else. 4. Benches. This is a division of plyometrics, but so effective, i'm giving it its own subheading. You know when dorky moms in lululemon go to Shapes, and jump up and down on aerobics benches while listening to bad early 90s techno and being 'encouraged' by an instructor in purple spandex? Brilliant for your jumping height. If you have a bench in front of you, do one foot up, then the other foot up, then one down, the other down, as fast as you can. Then do it all the way over the bench and back, do it sideways, and then do one-legged and two legged hops on and off it. You'll notice results in a few weeks.
