Coming, it's all coming...soon, together with results. Guy on the right, that's... err... Jet Li (bears a similarity)
I hear that the Jiangsu Team played around with the BC Team. Yeap, it's definitely a vacation for visitors . Sun Jun looked bored .
Well Pete, the BC team actually played quite well tonight compared to last night at Douglas College. They managed to split a few matches (2 games max per match) and I was quite impressed with their effort. The biggest difference is the consistency. Mind you, the Jiangsu 3 girls were pretty much dominant over ours. You'll see if you're going to VRC tomorrow night.
I am a bit surprised that Jiangsu team got sponsorship from Yonex rather than "local" brands, such as Victor or Kason.
No surprise actually. They were sponsored by Gosen before Yonex's take-over after last year's National games (when Jiangsu won the men's team championship and bunch of others).
I haven't put up any of the match pics yet . There were 2 x MS, 2 x WS 2 x MD, 2 x WD, 2 x XD. All completed in about 2 hours
Well, I saw a few familiar faces? I'm disappointed to hear the girls were trounced, since the girls that were badly beaten could badly beat me, heh.
Well people, here's some news. CBC TV was at RichmondPro to do some taping of the match. They will air some highlights and a 5 minute feature on either Weds 14 or 21 Feb at approx 6:45 pm. It's part of the sports portion of CBC News. So keep your eyes peeled! More pics later this evening
Team BC play Hard with their Hearts The BC girls (playing singles) are only 18 & 15. The Jiangsu team in average is older than Team BC. Team BC has 3 U21 boys and the rest are U21 or younger. I missed the first night in Douglas college. Team BC play better each night after as there were quite a few games won by Team BC in Richmond Pro and VRC. My two sons won 1 game in Mens Double and 1 game in Mixed at VRC and my younger son is only a "spare" Team BC member. Some pics to be posted in VRC thread but they are not as sharp as the ones posted in this thread:crying:
I'm glad to hear that our BC team did better at VRC last night. Maybe they are not as intimidated as on the first night at Douglas College. Plus they could be getting better at reading their opponents' games. I still haven't got the official results yet (possibly tomorrow) from the PRO matches. I will post up and comment as soon I as get them. mb (more pics to come later)
