For some reason, I can't play doubles anymore, I suck at it. BEfore this I was (and still am) a mixed player with my female companion's skills not up to grade. Plently enough for our school's jv girls but lacking nonetheless. Today, after I finished my mixed game, I went to play doubles with someone else and failed horribly, we should have beat them but ended up losing. Any explanation/tips?
You are used to only taking shots in the back and can't adjust to the rotation that is needed for doubles? The other team was just better? Only two things I can think of.
What Adone said, and maybe your just tired, since you just played a whole mixed game and then went to play doubles.
Agree with the others said. Mixed is completely different than doubles. Mixed is like playing singles without needing to cover the front. Doubles you have to rely more on your partner and cover your half of the court. Try trusting more in your partner and with proper rotation, you'll be back in no time.
Agreed. After all, it's only one game with a new partner... to play very well with such a short adjustment period would be quite the feat!
Unless you are that much stronger than you opponents. I never would say anything like I would beat my opponents for sure. Perhaps they had a good day.
Perhaps, thanks for the hints everyone. I appreciate it. And yes, I think we should have crushed them.
