Hiiz to all, it was my dream to be a prof player or somethin along those lines but never got the opportunity to, my little girl just turned 3 and was curious if anyone had ideas how to get her started on this? are there special schools or traning for kids this age? thanx alot. tom
send her to china now!! Jk, once she is old enough get her into playing the sport early, then get a coach. if she is good and once she is older she will get a sponsorship, then u just keep getting better, play regional tourney, then national, then international, when ur old enought i guess somehow the BWF makes u pro and stuff
haha i thought of that alredy! so maybe we r thinking age 6-7 for a coach? i think she is good already! but 3 is young and hopefully she will become better each time she plays. got lots of strength for a little girl! thax!
The earliest I've seen is four... they train with the club pro once or twice a week, basically hitting around a balloon with a badminton racquet. At age six or seven they join little-kid lessons and have a lot of fun!
Most important thing now is to promote being active. Get outside and play with her often. It also doesn't hurt to have her watch you play or such because it just causes interest. An interesting read: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/03/04/s...d=1&ei=5070&en=5e32e6bae282d904&ex=1173931200
