Hey guys, I currently have a MP24 and have been playing badminton for around 2 years now. Been training and playing socials every week and when a tourny comes around i would join. I was wondering if it would benefit me to upgrade to a higher end racket such as a MP99 or Amortec 900 Tech. I am quite an aggressive player and have a powerful smash/shots but average netplay. The MP24 is lightweight however many other rackets are head heavy would this help to my smashing and drop angles? Thanks for your time.
it might help abit. but bear in mind that being head heavy, it'll take some time to adjust to. so don't be frustrated if things don't work out for you soon. however, there's no problem with trying things out. i'd say an MP99 or Armourtec 250/300 before you venture into the expensive stuff.
^maybe i will get a muscle power 99, but that is around the same price as the armortec 900 technique. So i was thinkin of goin with the 900.
in that case whatever's fine. just warning you about jumping too far ahead and buying stuff that's too expensive. remember, what happens if it breaks?
If you're used to a lightweight racquet, then stick to what you know. If you're able to generate power with a light racquet, then that's the racquet type that suits you. See if you can demo some of the low end nanospeed racquets. My two cents. Good luck
Yeah I would agree not to go into a very expensive racket too soon. Carlton make some nice stuff and not too expensive. Perhaps an carlton aeroblade TT (with a mid balance), normal wieght. Good price, seems a like a good racket.
why don't you read this: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45470 he also switched from mp24. I personaly would go for AT900T, but I got MP99 for really cheap and I am really happy with it.
mono666 how much did u get your for, in Aus if i wanted to get that racket i would be looking at 200 if not 200+.
I was kinda lucky with my MP99 the racket was in 9.8/10 condition cuz the previous owner didn't like it. I got mine for 130CAD and it's the best 130 bucks spent so far!!! I am really enjoying the racket.
ben said that they get them cheap anyway. at club you should see if you can hit with a MP 100, i reckon that might suit you.
