Probably due to smashing with wrong method or smash too hard, my right hand ache badly after the game.
it continue to ache for 1 to 2 weeks.
especially when i type with computer keyboard, the index finger aches along the tendon.

    anyone has similar problem?

the pain, is most likely due to in-proper grip style.

Hello drifit, thanks for your reply.
I play badminton since young. But never got this kind of ache.
I went to see doc, doc isnt sure whats the cause of pain. probably due to prolonged usage of computer or overstretching during badminton game.

Most probably a wrist tendonitis, since it's been two weeks and it doesn't seem to go away.
Cause is most likely not badminton (but it's possible), but more repetitive motions like keyboard typing in a bad posture. Maybe the smashing motion exacerbated the wrist condition...
There are a lot of info on the net.

yeah, i think the long hours in front of the computer in uncomfortable position is the culprit since i am experiencing pain too. all the way up to my shoulder.

    Some more wrist ergonomic tips

You could have tendonitis of the wrist, or bursitis, or arthritis, or even carpal tunnel syndrome. Sometimes it is hard to tell. You probably developed by working on the computer and playing badminton and driving and...

Get the picture. One thing you can do to alleviate some of the cumulative stress is by playing with muscles that are different than what you work with. Basically if you are right handed you should use your left hand at work. Think about becoming mouse ambidexterous. Use your off hand to mouse at work or similar tasks. It takes a week or two to get up to speed but it can save your body and your hobby.

Could you provide a picture of how you hold the racket (your grip) when you smash?
