Is it normal for your lower right back to be sore after 4 and a half hours of playing badminton? I'm right handed btw.
thats a long time of play, aslong as it does not happen wit every session. 1 part of u is bound 2 get sore after a long trainin session
You could run a marathon in less time than 4.1/2 hours. I'm sure most people would be sore after that!! If it is a re-curring problem then it may suggest that you have an injury or are suffering from a slight imbalance in your posture. If we were ambidextrouse then assymetry wouldn't be a problem!! Make sure you warm down after your session and do some gentle stretching. It may also hightlight a technique problem thta you're not kicking through on your overhead shots.
It depends what you mean by "sore". If you mean "muscle fatigue/stiffness/mild discomfort after exercise", then obviously this is normal. If you mean "painful", then you may have an injury. Muscle aches are one thing; pain is another.
Agreed with Gollum. If the soreness doesn't dissipate with a few days off, then you should be more concerned, but otherwise it is probably not significant. Also a good idea as coachgary said to make sure you have a proper warm up and cool down routine. That, plus taking time away from the court, well let you know if you have an injury are simply adjusted to such intensive play.
I'm 16, with back problems(already). Lol. But the 4.5 hours had rests in it. And I only played for 1 year. So I'm not very good. Plus at first I had wrong technique, so I spent quite some time, unlearning it. Thanks everyone!
I never filmed myself, but I train. I karaoke backwards for overhead shots. And at the front of net drops I shuffle there, than lunge. But if I'm in the way back and theirs a net drop, I run to the net than lunge at the last step. Is that okay?
what's karaoke backwards? My footwork (currently being coached) enables me get to corners in about 2 - 3 steps from center. Sometimes from one corner to opposite corner in about 2.5 steps. There's alot of lunging/jumping involved though. Your footwork might be ok (shrug) I heard of one player who had lower back problems. The footwork technique was changed slightly so that instead of pivoting on one foot, he jumped and turned in mid air.
did u bend ur upper body back when u "karaoke" backward to hit over headshot everytime?? if so that maybe ur problem.
