. Today, Monday 7-Jan-2008, I sent a sad song to one of our members@Badminton Central. Suddenly, I was in the mood for some sad songs... so I brought out my guitar to sing a few sad songs. Some songs can be really touchy, such that they can make me weep...... Here are some songs that can bring tears to my eyes; 1. Auld Lang Syne (Scottish Traditional) 2. Danny Boy (Irish Traditional) 3. Greensleeves (English Traditional) 4. An American Trilogy (Elvis Presley) 5. Starry, Starry Night (Don McLean) ............ What are some songs that can make you weep? :crying::crying::crying: .
One song that makes me stop whatever I'm doing and listen is Anak by Freddie Aguilar Try as I might, I can't name even one song that can make me weep However, I can think of quite a few singers that can make me weep
Freddie Aguilar, the Filipino Singer . I didn't know about Freddie Aguilar until now... Searched for him and found this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freddie_Aguilar Reading the article about him, and his remorse song 'Anak', and his reunion with his father before his father passed away, brought tears of joy to my eyes too. What a surprise to find that 'Anak' is such a common word for 'Child' throughout South East Asia...... and this I didn't know before. I must find out more about him from my Filipino friends here in Melbourne, Australia. Thank You, Oldhand .
Seriously, whatever song this guy sings, it makes me cry... http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%A5%8A%E5%AE%97%E7%B7%AF http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aska_Yang
Oh youre playing guitar, play some songs please..!! In My life (Beatles) Let it be (Beatles) While my guitar gently weep (Beatles) He ain’t heavy (The Hollies) Refection of my life (Marmalade) Living for tomorrow (Scorpions) Ayah (The Mercy’s) Ibu (Blues Gang) Saltwater (Julian Lennon) Saltwater from Julian Lennon fairly easy and nice to play with acoustic guitar, get the chords here. http://www.azchords.com/l/lennonjulian-tabs-5296/saltwater-tabs-146573.html The correct lyrics is here http://www.lyricsfreak.com/j/julian+lennon/saltwater_20076451.html
http://youtube.com/watch?v=qt-5DSFcP2w Doesn't really make me weep, but it's sorta depressing. The instrumental version is better but I couldn't find it ¯\(°_o)/¯.
Since you smiled so much at the end instead of crying out, I thought the weeping was more to do with what being called "crocodile's tear"
What I admire chris@ccc most is his ability to start so many new threads on so many diversified topics sentimental = high performance and productivity
Auld Lang Syne always makes me cry @New Year Celebrations . A highly sensitive person, I think. Going back to this thread, I have made a mistake mentioning sad songs. But it wasn't meant to be for sad songs only. It was meant to be for any song that can bring tears to our eyes. I weep with tears of Sadness, with tears of Happiness and with tears of Love, etc...... Sometimes, all mixed together... for example, when Auld Lang Syne is sung to welcome in the New Year, I will cry. :crying::crying::crying: .
a malay song, sung by the late sudirman, called "ayah dan ibu" which translates to father and mother. a very slow song. always make me think of my parents and how there's so much more i can do for them for all their sacrifices.
anybody here heard of "tears in heaven" I think it's one of the sad songs that was quite popular many years ago.... one of the very few songs that I can play on a guitar...hehehe... mtv I like...
Tears of Happiness and Love . Yes, it is most of the time 'Tears of Happiness and Love', when songs of family and love are involved. :crying::crying: .
So far, chris@ccc has been anything, but moody, and never in any fight. I'd say he's a very moving and loving person. Just wondering who has his sad song at BC, instead of sharing with us The gentleperson probably In the same thought as azabaz_ipoh, there's a Chinese song called "Father's grassland, mother's river". But for all these songs, one has to understand the lyric in order to appreciate the full extent of their magical power.
yeah, i know this one song about a mother, sung in cantonese, always used in tearjerking cantonese movies. but i dont know the full translation. i think the intro goes like.....those who have a mother is very lucky...i am sure some knows the song.
You Didn't Read, Did Ya? Weeping? Where? Who? In fact, I said 'Anak' makes me stop and listen I also said that there's no song that makes me weep
It's a joke, and my apology to Oldhand, who made me weep more than the song did :crying::crying::crying:
Those who have a mother is very lucky . Are you referring to that song by Petrina Fung Bo Bo when she sang it when she was about 6? .
