:crying:I am a guy .. I know i should be able to do push up but i hardly can do 2 ..... it's really sad ? anyone here know's how to train to prepare myself to be able to to do more push up without doing push up itself ?

Sorry if this is not a badminton related question but i am trying to train back my stamina to play badminton .. and i think push up will be one of the training i need.

I was like you once about a year ago, couldnt do a push up or pull up, my mates could but i was the only 1 who couldnt. Do push ups on your knees, do as many as you can every other day.

Heres a guide to doing 100 push ups, i suggest you do it but replace normal push ups with the ones on your knees, after few weeks, you should be able to do lot more proper push ups

    http://hundredpushups.com/

This will also make pull ups and chin ups easier so you could buy a bar, quite cheap and do them to which will make ur push ups easier as well

    Good Luck

5 girl push ups will help you get stronger. 0 mens push ups won't. Do them at home if you're worried about people laughing.

    its the triceps
use weights for strengthning them, and then do pushups which will build up chest muscles as well

You don't use weights to train your triceps so that you can do push ups. You do more push ups so that you can do more push ups!

    Girly push up >.<

Do the girly push ups ;), dumb bell curls (Start lower then increase weights) and sit on an exercise ball instead of a chair (make sure posture/back is straight). You will soon look like a very strong dude with a skirt on .

yea you can start by doing those girl push up at home. do as much as you can everyday if your muscle doesn't get sore. the important part is, go down slowly and up fast. thats how you build muscle. my record right now is 65 :D

    It's weird.
You can't do it cause you have injury.
Or you just can't do it push up.

I do push up and sit up almost everyday.
It surely help my badminton game a lot.

You should also try other modified pushups -- wall pushoffs or counter pushups -- start off (with your feet on the floor and) your body angled at about 45 degrees. Try doing these in a plyometric manner -- pushoff vigorously so that your hands come off the wall (or table or counter). As you get stronger, try your plyometric pushups from a bench (body at 30 degrees or less with respect to the ground).

You should focus more on the development of leg muscles rather than arm muscles in badminton.

If someone can't do a few pushups, then his or her upper body is too weak. Ideally, people should be able to do at least 10 pushups and 10 pullups.

Me I can do 50 push up at once.
    100 sit up at once.

Goals 100 push up at once.

At this level, my sit up help me to build stamina. It works, rally game is no problem at all now.
While push up, will help my upper body strength, indirectly help my smash a lot.
of course I train my footwork and wrist also.

    dont just do pushups

do pushups, situps and pull ups, now thats a complete upper body workout

i do hundreds of those at least twice a week (65 push ups in a row and 15 pull ups in a row with palms facing out)

do they help my badminton games? NO, at least not anymore. lol =)

im lacking technique in my shots =/
