:crying:I am a guy .. I know i should be able to do push up but i hardly can do 2 ..... it's really sad ? anyone here know's how to train to prepare myself to be able to to do more push up without doing push up itself ? Sorry if this is not a badminton related question but i am trying to train back my stamina to play badminton .. and i think push up will be one of the training i need.
I was like you once about a year ago, couldnt do a push up or pull up, my mates could but i was the only 1 who couldnt. Do push ups on your knees, do as many as you can every other day. Heres a guide to doing 100 push ups, i suggest you do it but replace normal push ups with the ones on your knees, after few weeks, you should be able to do lot more proper push ups http://hundredpushups.com/ This will also make pull ups and chin ups easier so you could buy a bar, quite cheap and do them to which will make ur push ups easier as well Good Luck
Well thanks .... people just laught at me when i do it with the knee..... they say that's girl push up..... i will try to do that ... will see how that work ... thanks again ...
5 girl push ups will help you get stronger. 0 mens push ups won't. Do them at home if you're worried about people laughing.
I will be doing them right after i get back from traveling this weekend hopefuly i can do a full push up soon ..... thanks for all your guys help !
Easy: the iso pushup. Check this article out: http://www.t-nation.com/readArticle.do?id=1932231 Now hike up the skirt and get to work!
very funny on the skirt thingy so i just have to hold the push down for 1 minute and 30 second .... am i reading this right ? will give that a try to .. i just need to train myself in order to do the normal push up now i can't even do 2 ..... feel really stupid ... if i can't do that how can i train to play faster and better badminton right ?
its the triceps use weights for strengthning them, and then do pushups which will build up chest muscles as well
You don't use weights to train your triceps so that you can do push ups. You do more push ups so that you can do more push ups!
Girly push up >.< Do the girly push ups , dumb bell curls (Start lower then increase weights) and sit on an exercise ball instead of a chair (make sure posture/back is straight). You will soon look like a very strong dude with a skirt on .
You can try this give this workout plan a shot. http://www.menshealth.com/cda/artic...&conitem=f2430321d3602110VgnVCM20000012281eac____
yea you can start by doing those girl push up at home. do as much as you can everyday if your muscle doesn't get sore. the important part is, go down slowly and up fast. thats how you build muscle. my record right now is 65
It's weird. You can't do it cause you have injury. Or you just can't do it push up. I do push up and sit up almost everyday. It surely help my badminton game a lot.
You should also try other modified pushups -- wall pushoffs or counter pushups -- start off (with your feet on the floor and) your body angled at about 45 degrees. Try doing these in a plyometric manner -- pushoff vigorously so that your hands come off the wall (or table or counter). As you get stronger, try your plyometric pushups from a bench (body at 30 degrees or less with respect to the ground).
Thanks for the advice .... i really need to increase stamina so i can do push up ... i really want to play some competative badminton... not just fooling around ....
i know i need more footwork .. i will need to do both ..... as now i can't even do normal push up it's kind of biggest weakness i had ...... so i trying to fix that but i will not forget to train on my foot work yesterday i learn that i need to put my left foot front ... i always don't do that .. and make me weak at geting back shot ... thanks to a friend that pointed that out.
If someone can't do a few pushups, then his or her upper body is too weak. Ideally, people should be able to do at least 10 pushups and 10 pullups.
Me I can do 50 push up at once. 100 sit up at once. Goals 100 push up at once. At this level, my sit up help me to build stamina. It works, rally game is no problem at all now. While push up, will help my upper body strength, indirectly help my smash a lot. of course I train my footwork and wrist also.
dont just do pushups do pushups, situps and pull ups, now thats a complete upper body workout i do hundreds of those at least twice a week (65 push ups in a row and 15 pull ups in a row with palms facing out) do they help my badminton games? NO, at least not anymore. lol =) im lacking technique in my shots =/
