The last time LCW played Hu Yun was in Sudirman cup, LCW won 21-16 and 21-8. I think it will be slightly tougher as the China born HK player has improved. Still, he might be close to first set and run out of steam in the 2nd. LCW to win 21-18, 21-12.
It has been a good tournament for Malaysia's new pair of Tan Wee Kiong and Mak Hee Chun. Maybe they can turn out to be as good and hopefully more consistent than Koo and Tan.
Wang Xin's a bright spark. Speed seems to be her weapon but that's relative because Saina was slow yesterday, showing all the signs of fatigue. WMC's footwork is easier on the eye now. This match should be a thriller. PHY's experience will be too much for her opponent.
come on,mak/tan beat ur opponent and face koo/tan next, slay them as u can all the best for mas player, stop china here
I am glad that the two non-Pelatnas pairs Hendra A. Gunawan/Vita Marissa and Hendra A. Gunawan/Alvent Yulianto Chandra progress to the SF. This proves that INA badminton players can still be successful without being in Pelatnas. I am especially intrigued by AG/Vita's progress and I think they may rise to the top 20 pretty fast if they continue to pair up. Hendra A. Gunawan is only 27 yo, while Vita Marissa is 28. They may still have a future in XD, esp since AG is a relatively decent MD player, similar to the level of He Hanbin, Xie Zhongbo and Zheng Bo. Remember, Nova is also pretty unknown in XD before he partners Liliyana Natsir (only won a couple of titles with Vita Marissa previously), but, later on, he really shone. So, it's not too late for AG to play in XD also. As for AG/Alvent, it just confirms my prediction early this year that they have the capability of matching both Bona/Ahsan and Rian/Yoke in terms of achievements. They WILL DEFINITELY RISE TO THE TOP 10 in a few mths time...its just a matter of time. And I strongly believe they have a chance to win a GP Gold title next week in Manila. Let's just wait and see.....
some of my predictions for today semifinal men singles - lee chong wei will win over yun hu - chen long will win over wong choong hann (but im hoping choong hann will create miracle today la) women singles - xin wang win over mew choo (tough match for mew choo against this youngster) - shixian wang win against pi hongyan women doubles - the malaysians will against the chinese veteran gao ling/wei liyi in the final men doubles - Koo/Tan will win against the indons and final showdown against Mak/Tan (i'll take the Koo/Tan as the fav. in the final) mixed doubles - zheng bo/Ma jin will all the way to get their crown in this tournament with their current form
Wang Xin bt Wong Mew Choo 21-18, 21-14. Wang Xin never dropped a game so far She won all her matches in 2 games Congrats to Wang Xin
Wang Xin's short serves look so illegal it's not funny. Anyway she just polished off WMC in straight games
After eliminated Indian star Saina Nehwal yesterday, Chinese unknown player Wang Xin beat local fave Wong Mew Choo 21-18 ; 21-14. Wow!
Poor WMC. Despite her new, more aggressive approach, she was totally neutralized by the more consistent Wang Xin.
