I c ur new here, use the search button at the top there, plenty on smashes etc. But you ave kinda answered ur question, ur arm is not straight when u contact the shuttle. Remember also u avent played in 6 months so it will take a couple sessions to get it rite again and a gud few more to improve accuracy and power providing ur technique is rite Hope this helps mate
If you bend your arm, its gives you way to much angle. Make sure to keep a loose grip and just flick your wrist down
well..its the shoulder tht i bend the most.. neways..thnx fr the tip..m practicin hrd to get it ryte...
smash Mate, Slicing the shuttle if you have not trained for months is quite normal i would say. Perhaps try first to lob straight, make sure you have body turning. Using just wrist is unsufficient. this is probably easier to achieve first. Once you get the hang of it, basically you can do the same for smashes, make sure sufficient body turning and basically the idea is to now instead of lobbing upwards what you can do is to try and hit it down say at 40 degree. Not sure if you understand what I mean here, but watching some games might help.
