Hello folks. I'm planning to sell my old Ti-6 soon, but I am wondering what would be the best way to do this. The two possible options are: 1) come up with a fair price for the racquet, and advertise it here at the forum, or 2) put it up at eBay, and may the highest bidder take it off my hands Ideally, an auction via eBay should get me both the fair and the best price. And while I was skimming over the auctions, the latest Yonex racquets (mostly the MP series) seem to reflex this -- they are almost able to reach their equivalent street prices. Then again, these are brand new racquet being sold by dealers or shops. Older/lower lines seems to be doing really poorly. This guy's nice-looking Carb20 is only able to get up to about Cdn$50. What would you guys do if you were me? If I were to post an ad here, what would be a fair price for a good-looking, albeit used, Ti-6? And if I were to put it up at eBay, what would a reasonable reserve amount be? Thank you for your wisdom in advanced. -Rick
Here. It is always to deal with someone that is easy to communicate and not retarded. Lots of the e-bay customers are. I had a friend who put up an ad for a laser printer and he tried to pulled some stuff. He even got out of ideas that he wanted to scam the post office (Insured package). Yodums
your best bet is probably marketplace forum... if a cab20 is going for 50$ i don't think ur Ti6 will get that much more.. no offense. u could also try selling it to recrec players at your local badminton gym... gl
Hey that racquet can't be all that bad - Mike Beres was using that racquet while he was world #21 in mixed, up until a couple of months ago. Someone posted a WTB for a Ti6 in marketplace too. kthxgg
If you're selling on eBay it is also depends on your seller rating. if your rating is 100+ with 1 or non negative feebacks. i think you can sell it at a decent price. higher rating = more bidder, that what i notice. so yea it is based on your item descriptions as well, give it a good description like looks new, no scratch etc if there isnt. I think personally a Ti-6 would sell higher than a Cab20 on eBay. I think people on eBay dont know much about racket and i would say a Cab20 looks like a cheap racket. Beside the Cab20 on eBay had some paint chipped at the 2 O'clock.
Why not consider try to sell in ur club / team / league first? This way, both buyer and seller should be able to reach a deal much easier than emailing back and force... Also, handy cash and less pain in shipping will be good bonus as well.
Hey folks. Thank you for all the suggestions that have been given so far. I really appreciate all your insights. I, too, believe that my Ti-6 should be worth more than a Carb20. But exactly how much more is something I do not know. The racquet itself is in top condition, with the exception of a small paint chip somewhere between the 12 and 1 o'clock position. I also got the strings re-done about a month ago with BG-80 at 20lbs, but I don't suppose this would affect the price all that much (if at all). Am I kidding myself if I were to ask for around Cdn $90 (about US$60)? I believe a new Ti-6 used to sell for around Cdn $150 (~US$100) before it was discontinued. A 40% discount seems pretty reasonable to me for a 2-year old racquet. -Rick
Ti-6 Hello: Do you still have Ti-6 racket. Is it Ti-6 Lite Long or regular and how much do you want? I am in US. Please pm me. Thanks.
Re: Ti-6 You're selling a TI-6 and want to a Ti-6? what wrong with your racket and why are you selling it?
The racquet is a Ti-6 long, 2U (90g - 95g) G2, Canadian version (with region code CD). I'll take some pictures tomorrow and post them up. There is nothing wrong with the racquet itself, other than 2 minor paint chips. I am basically selling the racquet because I no longer use it. I messed up my right arm about a year and a half ago, and the 2U racquet is just a tad too heavy now. -Rick
TIP: a better way to tape the end of the overgrip is you have to pull the tape tight so the tape seals around the two surfaces. If it twists all over the place or leave any gaps the tape could loosen. looks like its in pretty good condition, doesnt look like its been used for 2 years at all o.0
