it is yellow. bright yellow. I checked the mybadmintonstore.com, and realize that yellow is available in NBG95 (SP). http://www.mybadmintonstore.com/shop/images/Nanogy95SP25.jpg that's why i asked "when did Yonex introduce the yellow colour in?"
I've been using nanogy 95 recently 28lbs. I find it's pretty good all round except for one thing - I can't spin the shuttle so well on netshots. I wonder if it's just the learning curve. I prefer the natural color - I didn't realize it had different colors and the stringer chose black. Does the color of string affect the friction of the shuttle on the racquet? I've got some nanogy 98 lying around so may try that.
It could! I don't know about NBG95, but i've got white and yellow BG80 at home now and you can feel a difference. The yellow version has more texture. The yellow is a 200 m roll bought in Denmark and the white is 10 m SP version from Hong Kong.
Surprisingly not much reviews on this string....i recently juz try this string...its superb! I wonder does the durability and "feeling" will be lasting anot, if yes, definitely my goto string now....i strung at 2lbs higher than my usual 24lbs on other strings i used which includes, BG66UM,NBG98,BG80,VS850....the feeling i got is something like a thin string (BG66UM) performance and crisp sounds coming from it...i do hope it can last abt 2mths, then it's definitely a worthwhile string to use
I just purchased the nbg 95 black from Bangkok, wanted your recommendation on the string tension. I use AT 70 and playing style is mostly aggressive. Sort of an intermediate player, rely on drives and smashes more than drop's. What you guys recommend ? 24 lbs sound good ?
nbg95 on AT70 Yup, I got it strung at 23 mains and 24lbs across on my AT70 and man does it feel nice. The smashes are crisp. I definitely feel the shots are powerful, dont know why people complain about accuracy it feels really really crisp. Very pleased with the result.
I just had mines replaced after 1 month of playing. About 36 hours total of playing, the strings got dull and it wasn't the same anymore. It was strung on a bs8 at 24ibs.
Now broken after about 6 months (had 4 racquets strung with it and 3 need replacing). Going to try out Ngy98.
I think for thicker strings like 95 and BG65, it needs to be strung at higher tensions to bring out the string liveliness....personal opinion only
I have strung NBG95 to 33lbs before, and yet the feel is big and not that sharp nor stiff enough for delicate net shots and the repulsion goes almost everywhere if I don't control the racquet head properly. BG65 on the other hand is totally different; the higher I go (33 to 34lbs, each case different tension) the feel gets more delicate even though with heavy smashes the string still feels soft and controllable. The string bed is also stiff enough for delicate net shots.
my 4th racquet still has ngy 95 (28-29lbs). I tried it out again. After having used ngy98, going back to ngy95 feels terrible! No feel at all. Don;t think I will ever try Ngy95 again.
Just reviving this old thread as I have some questions about NBG95. Firstly what colours are available? I've only seen the following. Silver Gold Yellow Black Graphite Grey Secondly I was told that silver is a limited edition colour? Is this true? I want white but I don't think it is available. So silver is the next best thing, if it is a limited edition colour, maybe I need to stock up?
a string for heavy bomber durability second to none dull feeling but you can get used to it though after using it a while
PHP: From my reading the Nanogy 95 has not been well-received amongst players. A lot of people are compalining about its seemingly 'greasy' coating. It seems to be one of the least popular strings in the Yonex line-up. Is anyone aware of any pros who use it?
Plenty of pros used to use it - Cai and Fu, for example - but I don't know many who do now. Tony Gunawan does, though (at 30 lb, for reference).
Thanks Mark, I doubt Cai and Fu use it now since they play with Kason. Having said that, they still sport 'gold' coloured strings. Christina Pedersen used to play with a 'gold' coloured string when she was still using her Nanospeed 9900; although I highly suspect she was using the NBG 98.
Arrived in today's mail from Stringers' World. I plan to have my Carlton Vapour Trail strung with them.
