Doesn't PBSI have a Program Director or an Executive Director that actually runs the day-to-day ops as well as advises the board on long-term and mid-term strategies and implementation? I think Chairmen are mostly political appointees...
I really hope Im wrong, but my gut feeling is: I, as an INA baddy fan, will drink to the bottom of the bottle before seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. MERDEKA!!
I would gladly say the same thing about INA football -i'm a football fans too-, but for badminton I already see a sparkling light at the tunnel.
There is a big different cos in football INA was never a strong footballing nation, so if INA never gets there everyone can understand. But baddy.....oh baddy.........................
INA football may never be strong in the world but there was a time when INA football is recognised and noteable in the high rank of Asia and powerful in south east asia. INA is the first Asia nation play in the World Cup -1938 under name Dutch East Indies also managed to play in Olympic Melbourne. Of course it's not the same level with INA badminton. But now the Standar of INA football are very low even in south east asian region. Aniway I still believe in INA badminton ..!!!
Nova has resigned from pelatnas..Tontowi will take over his place. Nova will go Prof and may play MD with Yoke ( tentatively..so far..)
Two things in my opinion: - INA youngsters potentials are relatively low (based on recent years result from AJC and WJC) - Development of INA INA youngsters to senior level are relatively slow. Example for current 5 years: 1. INA WS (Firda, MKY, Nana) achievements from their juniors to senior 2. INA MS (Sony, Simon, Tommy, etc). Sony and Simon were good since their 18-19 ages, but compared to CJ, LCW, LD (about same ages), their achievements are lower. 3. INA MD (Kindra, RiYo, Bona/Ahsan), only KinDra has really improved in good manner, Kindra were plotted to replace LuVent, and they did it well and even better. But not for other MDs. 4. INA XD, this part is harder, some pair are from different ages (Nova and Lily, Flandy and Vita). But some failures from Devin/Lita to progress as expected. 5. INA WD. (Rani, Greysia, Lita, Jo Novita, Vita, etc), their achievements for WD didn't show significant result after years in Pelatnas. Meanwhile, some potential to be stagnant are on the way (Djarum boys): Hayom, Febe, Shendy, Lindaweni etc. I just worry that potential like Rendy, Rian Agung, etc, will be shown backward progress in future. So, is Pelatnas doing any good now?
Mixed Doubles Shuttler Ready to Fill Nova’s Shoes Ami Afriatni | September 30, 2010 When Tontowi Ahmad learned he had been chosen to assume the place of one of the country’s greatest-ever mixed doubles shuttlers, the 23-year-old knew the distinction would come with big expectations. The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) on Wednesday announced it had split the world champion pair of Nova Widianto and Liliyana Natsir. With Nova struggling for form, the PBSI picked Tontowi to take his place, hoping the young shuttler could end the country’s poor run of results in mixed doubles. “I know I will always be compared to Nova. I know I have big shoes to fill, what with their accomplishments as world champions [2005 and 2007] and Olympic finalists [2008 silver medalists],” Tontowi told the Jakarta Globe on Thursday. “But I’ve been given a responsibility that I’m more than willing to accept. It’s time for me to answer this challenge.” ------------------------------------------------- *Full article : http://www.thejakartaglobe.com/badminton/mixed-doubles-shuttler-ready-to-fill-novas-shoes/399008 Good luck for Towi/Liliyana in upcoming tourneys
PBSI Got New sponsor Good news! To support the Indonesian Program Gold (Prima), the parent organization XXVI perseta SEA Games officially entered into agreement with State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs). Pbsi got new sponsor for backup their Finance beside of Yonex. There are two companies that will be the sponsor : PT Smen Gresik Persero Tbk,PT Pertamina Persero. It seems pretty good and hopefully PBSI will more often send young players to international tourney. but im not sure this cooperation against pbsi and that 2 companies will still continue after sea games. http://olahraga.kompas.com/read/2010/10/12/15555631/Inilah.Daftar.Nama.BUMN.dan.Cabornya
This is the BESST BESSTTTT news I heard this year!!!! Pertamina and Semen Gresik are awesome companies with strong cash-flow! If they really enforce their nationalistic will to help Indonesian badminton, we shall see funds development like never before. Seriously! The financial power of the owners of Jaya Raya and Djarum are puny compared to these 2 government owned giants!
