A powerful Backhand Smash could be the most difficult shot to master . IMHO, the powerful Backhand Smash (as performed by Taufik Hidayat) could be the most difficult shot to master. .
For me backhand is somewhat easier than forehand for clears or drops because we still can do it even the shuttle is a bit behind us, due to swing of the backhand stroke. However, the thing I don't like is after executing any backhand i cannot see n anticipate early my opponent's return because I am facing the back of the court.
im going to have to agree with jhirata here. backhands when under pressure are quite difficult to pull off, and my clears only go halfway into their court
Backhand cross-court drop created by slicing. Takes you by surprise cos when you look at the person executing the shot, you cannot tell what he's going to do until he slices the shot. (Actually, if the person has an excellent backhand, he can have his back turned to you and you will have to either wait for him to hit the shot, or guess where he's going to hit and move there.) Slicing is at the same speed as a normal backhand drive but bleeds the speed off the shuttle very quickly. It's very difficult to master due to the exact timing needed for contact.

Backhand is a flick shot . Probably you don't have a strong wrist to flick using the backhand. Exercise to strengthen your wrist. Backhand is a flick shot. .
Supination is super important - watch Taufik's backhand. While flicking your wrist may help, it's much more beneficial to improve the timing and strength of your supination.
I'm actually suprised that "Doubles return of serve" isn't very common, if you play at a high level, and in a competitive match, this is actually not only very important, but difficult to pick and execute the right option in order to allow you to win the point.
why is cross court net shot the hardest for most people? Im not trying to offend anyone here but after I learnt the basics, straight net, straight drop and straight clear it was the first shot my coach taught me and I picked it up quite quickly. I'd say hardest shot to master is the smash. I can generate lots of power no problem but getting the angles without hitting the net can be very hard but when doen properly is easily the most effective shot for changing a game but its seriously hard to master!
Well, maybe for you, but not everyone is the same; I learned to smash before I could clear, so yea... I'm a very hasty player, I like to end rally's fast. I think the hardest shot is the push shot for me. I just can't get it to fall over the net. It always go farther than I want and usually falls in front of the service line. I seen some players at the gym push the shuttle so close behind the net there's no way you could lift it back.
... don't know you guys believe or not...i can't do my forehand crossnet properly...>.< my backhand crossnet is better...
that doesnt sound like a push to me. pushes are flat and dont fall (so) close to the net (that they make lifting difficult).
Yep, the described shot is a block shot. Blocks are shots with so little pace that they drop right behind the net [hit at head height or lower].
