Ahhh, let me ask you this question. How did you start the first main string(s)?

the thickness is 6mm, width is 32mm. so maybe a 17mm shim or some sort is needed to properly mount it.

the other question is will it fit in the short rail?

the space between the end leg and the turntable is 28cm.

clearance from the top of the rail to the racket shaft is 19cm. i think Dink measured his and the height require for 360 rotation is 21.5cm. so that will lost, but not a deal breaker.

since the alpha shuttle express is floor height, kwun could show his kids how to string, like make it out as a game for them to play. For start, brandon can start on the 4 points stringing, and Justin can learn to do 2 points stringing;) Their tiny fingers are perfect for weaving:) Then Kwun would have more time to play badminton and overseeing BC:)

17mm is a pretty big shim for this small bracket.
the length of my bracket size 152mm, so with 280mm it will be no problem ....

    oh that... black magic.

i didn't do it with key ring, a did kinda what taneepak once describe but with a floating clamp instead of a starting clamp and pulling two segments of string.

the keyring method is kinda clever, but seems rather time consuming.

i do like the build quality of the machine, a good use of ball bearing makes everything very smooth. also crank is so much easier to use than drop weight. omg.

now stringing is actually enjoyable. i have seen strung 3 rackets with this machine. i started with my old MP100, then a cab20, now a Carlton Nanopower 9900. the Carlton will be the next review racket.

would the keyring hurt the string?

Ahhh. I have to admit i don't read the stringing forum much:D This ring thing is kinda odd way to start:D (since i have fixed clamps and never had the think about this issue before). Just for fun, i just went to my machine and try it. First time i pulled it (25lb), the string broke at the knot on the ring:eek: I guess i didnt tie it good:D Tried it again, and and it work the 2nd time. Kinda a long way about it so i tried a new sequence of pulls without using the ring to start the main. i can do it with 2 flying clamps, i'm happy with it. Just 2 extra pull steps which is easy for a crank. If one has a ring-string jig made already i guess it would be quicker than making 2 extra pull. However, my ways work better on pre-weaved racket:p:p

So, will Kwun be tempted to modify his ASE into a clamp down with the WISE head? :D:D:D

kwun what was the time it took you for your first frame? Maybe I should commission you to string my rackets. :p I love the DIY aspect, but i hate the time it takes with my drop weight. Makes one consider the wise...
