I am also periodically looking at website to check on sales of TC/UB tickets. The last few major badminton events in Malaysia, tickets were sold via the "Axcess" website. As of now, still no new news yet on ticket sales. http://www.axcess.com.my/main.htm
I hope it will be better organise than the MO 2010. It was a real disaster!!! People were fighting for good seats....till police have to come in....
yes... i was there for QF and SF..... but the police were quick.... and also not many people notice....since everybody were busy watching the game. Hope this time we can book seat numbers for Thomes Cup... free seating don't work very well in M'sia
However, numbered seats make people take their own sweet time. They will arrive whenever they want and what matches they want to see since their seats are secured. People who comes early will have to stand up and let latecomers to take their seats. Free seating promotes punctuality.
Free seating on Thomas Cup event? I cannot imagine people will be rushing and fighting to get good seat. It will be disaster!!! NO FREE SEATING!!!:crying:
It was my first time in KL to watch Malaysia Open in Jan 2010. Bought the Premium ticket then. I estimated that there were extra 30-40% more people in the Premium area than the premium seats can accommodate. Saw many loop holes mainly in crowd control:- 1) People goes in & out are only identified by tickets (so, possibly, once inside one can collect a few more tickets and go outside to bring in more people). 2) The demacation area are not clearly defined. It allows people to move too freely, especially when the toilet is located "outside" + several Exit pts (also act as possible entry pts). 3) There are limited Guides/Controllers in giving "directions/orders". Some allow people to sit on the steps, some allow people to reserve seats, some allow people to enter via "Exit" door, etc. Maybe erecting more barricades can better manage these inconsistency. Really hope Malaysia can iron these out for a more pleasant and enjoyable watch. The "stadium" should be prepared for many more "Passionate Badminton Mad" crowd for TC/UC as compared to MO. Btw, anyone has any news on when the sales of TC/UC tickets?
