    hard to say.

when the Chinese women team crumbled in the UC final, it was only WX who held up to the overwhelming opponent, and everyone who was cheering against the Chinese in the stadium.

2010 BWF WC: All 8 seeded WD & MD partnerships advanced to QF

    .
    This is most unexpected. :):):)

Usually in the Doubles events, we find more upsets.

I will expect no less than a Bronze Medal for Lee Chong Wei in this year's WC. So, Taufik will probably get steam-rolled again.

As for the XD, if Nova is motivated enough and his "good side" turns up, the INA pair could just triumph. But at the moment, they are the underdogs.

In the MD, Kido/Hendra are also the underdogs, despite their higher seeding. It will be a cracking last match of the day against the fired-up Fang/Lee.

omg.. so sad to hear this type of news..:(
    poor boonsak:(

Nothing is going right for Thai Boonsak in Paris
THAILAND’s Boonsak Ponsana (pic) is not at ease in focusing on his task in competition.

His thoughts are on other matters too. His 60-year-old mother, Booncheun, is critically ill in Bangkok while his sister, Salakjit, lost all her money in Paris.

Salakjit was reduced to tears after ‚2,000 were stolen from the hotel room. On top of that, the unscrupulous person swiped US$4,000 on her credit card.

Boonsak said that his eighth appearance in the world championships was turning out to be one of the worst for him.

“I am not focused here. There are so many things on my mind. I could not even give my best against a lower ranked player,” said the Thai No. 1, who slogged for a 21-18, 21-17 win over England’s Carl Baxter in the second round on Wednesday.

It was all over for Boonsak yesterday as he crashed to a 13-21, 11-21 defeat by Hsuan Yi-hsueh of Taiwan for a place in the quarter-finals.

Boonsak was so engrossed in his own problems that he was not aware that Indonesians Sony Dwi Kuncoro and Simon Santoso had withdrawn from the competition.

Sony did not make the trip to Paris because of a back injury while Simon came down with the same problem and had to concede a walkover to Yi-hsueh.

“I did not know Simon and Sony withdrew. I am finding it hard to concentrate here. My aging mother has arthritis and it has gone bad. I am in communication with her everyday,” said Boonsak yesterday.

“And my sister lost all her cash yesterday. How can somebody do this to my sister? She is so distraught. She is not the only one. Some of the players from Taiwan also lost their money. This is one of the worst world championships for me.”

Malaysia’s Mohd Hafiz Hashim, who also stays in the same hotel with the Thais, lost some money too.

“On top of that, the air-conditioner is faulty in the hotel room. We have made so many complaints but nothing has been done. All these does not seem right here,” said Boonsak.

How could all this happen to a 5-star tourney? Disgraceful... This is what Chinese call "black shop"!

Sorry to say it's not a matter of a "5-start tournament". Things like this happen in life all the time.
