'probably not going to' has the exact same meaning as 'probably going to', so dont read too much into it
LOL, what key word ? How many times have you actually predicted correctly LCW's result in WC or OG ? LCW is favourite to win any title, he is just 'psychologically' incapable of performing to his best when it comes to WC or OG. Skill and effort wise, he is definitely the best.
View attachment 104888 all thumbs up....let the game begin!!!!!!! he's looking good..nothing 's gonna stop him now
It's now or never, Chong Wei It's now or never, Chong Wei New Straits Times 2011/08/08 Vijesh Rai rai@nst.com.my Full story: http://www.nst.com.my/nst/articles/Badminton_It_snowornever_ChongWei/Article/ Excerpts: ...The burning question is can Lee Chong Wei end 34 years of pain for Malaysia by winning the singles gold or will doubles Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong step up and prove once and for all that they are worthy of the hype that always accompanies them into major tournaments. Of the two, it does seem that Malaysia's best bet, as is so often the case, is Chong Wei and the World No 1 certainly has the capability and, more importantly, the form to win Malaysia's first ever world title. ...Christensen had a point when he said Chong Wei has been phenomenal this year. What he didn't say was that Chong Wei also looks like a player at peace with himself. He doesn't sport the haunted look he used to have, speaks confidentially and, above all, spent the last week or so away from the distractions of Kuala Lumpur by training in Bath -- all of which point to a run which should take him into his first World Championships final.
. LCW didn't look that impressive at Round 1 of the 2011 World Championships. Hope that LCW could perform better in Round 2. .
All he has to do is do enough to win 2 straights, save energy....why peak now? Save the best for later use.
exactly.. completely agree with you Birdie. we shouldn't expect LCW to blow every opponent to oblivion at every stage. plus it's only monday. slow and steady win the race. and come sunday it's another story. we all know he has it in him to win this WC. LCW fan should show that, win or lose, they will still support him as long that he is playing to his best ability, rather than putting undue pressure on him.
One obstacle tackled and one potential opponent lost. Overall, it's a good day so far for Dato Lee. Ville Lang is next.
LCW looked tight today, if his opponent had made a few easy points in the second game it would have been very close. The thing with LCW is once he's behind on score his level has in the past at majors dropped, be interesting to see if he performs and takes the title as he should
. Could we get get to watch a Lee Chong Wei-vs-Kevin Cordon match at the Quarter-Finals (I wonder)? .
