This kind of error giving away one extra crucial point in G2 to the Danish should not have happened on the first place at a world class tournament such as SC. The umpire is so dumb. And the commentators should dare to point out to the basic problem instead of discussing the INA pair's psyche at length :eek: WTF

Umpires cannot count these days, like the time last year when LD lost to JOJ a similar thing also happened.

And the amazing of this badminton is that no one official is able to correct the dumb umpire for such silly yet fatal error!!!:confused: how can be a world class sport if such obvious but fatal error is allowed?

Yes it is disappointing. Two XD pairs both lost in the group stage.
Curious mind want to know why INA is seeded #3 after CHN and JPN. INA won 3-2 over England and Denmark. MAS did the same with the score 3-2 over KOREA and INDIA.

You're not wrong, but the commentators weren't wrong either. Sometimes bad things happen and it's not fair. It doesn't mean you should give up the entire game. They looked completely broken in the 3rd game, no fire, no passion, just frustration. That made the Danes play better and better and made the INA pair look very very average.

While the INA Coaches were very right to be angry, they definitely did not remain calm for their players and ultimately contributed to their problems. A real collapse on both the coaches and players when responding to adversity (It won't be the last time in the years to come).

With that being said, I do think the tournament referee should have been called. He's supposed to be there to solve these situations.

It happens in all world class sports.... Players/Fans are powerless everywhere; umpires are like Gods

Don't the umpires be taught to maintain the score status quo whenever there is a challenge??? So simple the principle yet the BWF officials allow such silly but fatal error to happen on court!!!:eek:

it's as if an amateur club match... shame shame

Agreed with you but sad to say nothing is done. I feel so angry watching the match live. I will never forget this unfair match in my live.

Thankfully this only happened in a dead rubber. If this was the 5th deciding rubber, oh you better believe the reaction and storm would have been a lot bigger.

In that other incident a challenge wasn´t involved but LD just didn´t get one of his Points that he had won by the umpire in G1 and then later lost G1 21-19:mad: it can be seen in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKlOHu5fcO4 at about 13 min.

At minimum that umpire should not be staged at the rest of this tournament... thinking he's too old for this task that requires constant focus.

The tournament referee should step in or be called to look into it immediately.

Still Jordan/Susanto shouldn't let that 1 point affect them too much, world class players have to learn to handle such situations better unless it happens once too often. Imagine, if there were no Hawk-Eye, how many times would players felt hard done by and threw away a few precious points for not being able to get over it psychologically quickly enough.

And because this kind of fatal scoring errors do happen repeatedly, BWF should assign a secondary scoring keeper as a back-up system.

Only ignorant minds will allow the possibility of such fatal error from happening, again and again. There should be a fail-safe system!

Two imperative bizarreness to easily rectify for BWF high echelons:

    (1) Call of service fault

    (2) Maintain the correct and accurate score all the time
