Shi Yuqi, China best junior right now with average talent and he needs very hardwork to do in some aspects, his current world ranking doesn't reflect real capability. On positive note, Shi is still 21 years old, let's see two or three years later how far Shi Yuqi will develop.

    Savage mode ON, CLELY ?

I remember a football rating for a player similar to your post:

"Ran like a donkey for half an hour without creating anything."

    Haha haaahuh.

Srikanth vs Chen Long and Tan/Hendra vs Kam/Son is surely going to be great.
Tough match for Chen Long even though he is the favourite. The title can go both ways.
I expect Kam/Son to actually win the MD title tomorrow.

I suppose Zheng/Chen is out for revenge, this time against No.2 INA pair Jordan/Debby.
It is time for them to win another title albeit long between their first SS title this year.

Even though it is all-JPN final for WS, I am highly intrigue to see which one will win
between Akane Yamaguchi or Nozomi Okuhara tomorrow.
Both of them have had ups and downs this season.

Meanwhile in WD, it is the ideal final between No.1 seed Matsutomo/Takahashi vs No.2 Seed Juhl/Pedersen.
Did the JPN pair ever won any title this year? It has been a long time since they compete in SS event final.

Not Pontianak though. Mostly Pontianak are either Hakka or Teocheuw.

Hendra and his wife speaks Javanese because he's from Java and has a strong Javanese accent in his Indonesian (just like Kevin Sanjaya) although they're of Chinese descent.

Hokkien but some also know Teochew, Hakka, Hainanese and Cantonese to some degree. LCW could converse in a few dialects. It depends on where they from.

For Chinese Indo, usually those from Java and Sulawesi speaks minimum Chinese dialects but they speak native Indonesian local dialects ( Hendra, Kevin, Debby fluent in Javanese and Butet fluent in Manadonese). Those from Sumatra and Kalimantan usually speaks Chinese local dialects like Hokkien, Hakka, Teochew, Hainanese or Cantonese.

    Yeap some do.

I'm a Hakka descent and I understand Mandarin. I learned Mandarin when I was a kid. Because we have many Teochews here in my city, I end up could also speak Teochew too.

On paper, Chen Long is the favourite and has the experience of playing at the highest level in many finals. He is also a master of slow conditions. Chen Long can be put under pressure if you push hard enough as HS Prannoy showed in Indonesia SSP. Srikanth Kidambi is in a rich vein of form and comes into the match with momentum. Srikanth has to break a 5-0 H-H with Chen Long. In the Sudirman Cup, he had a poor start in game 1 and in game 2, Srikanth didn't push hard enough. Mentally, Srikanth is in a much better state after Indonesia SSP and seeing Prannoy beat Chen Long will give him hope and self belief. Srikanth has an opportunity to win if he takes his chances and maintains his composure! :)

Cantonese is minority group just like Hainanese. I know some friends and their family who are either Cantonese or Hainanese but they only speak Cantonese or Hainanese at home because the lingua franca is usually the dominant group ie Teochew in Pontianak or Hokkien in Medan. The dominant group is Hokkien, Teochew and Hakka in Indonesia.

Australia SS is being downgraded to a GPG next year, what happens to the defending champions who don't return? Do they lose SS points?
Also Indonesia SSP is being upgraded to level 2, for the players who don't defend their titles will they lose level 2 points or SSP points?

What do you expect from Shi Yuqi? He's not Lin Dan, your idol, a rare talent.

Nah, he has got the talent. He is not Lin Dan but once he develops physically, he will be a force to reckon with.
