Kento Momota and Chou Tien Chen have similar pattern how they clear first round hurdle, coming from behind to take over the lead... The Japanese lost concentration a bit at the beginning of second game before he regrouped slowly and targeting backhand side of Tommy Sugiarto as the Indonesian often did late anticipation to retrieve his opponent shot. Chou needs time to adjust court and analyze Rouxel style of play in opening game, he will take on very challenging test tomorrow to meet the agile Loh KY, rematch of Hylo Open opening round.
Satwik is recovering from injury?. Even though they are losing to Malaysian pairs lately, but he has split his partnership with Aswini ponappa in XD it seems. Now, sumeeth teddy is partnering her. I dont see this pair going forward in the future. Sumeeth is outdated longtime ago.
Sumeet/Ashwini both will retire anyway. So no hopes from this pair. Perhaps XD was too draining for Satwik and it affected his MD performance. Just my wild guess.
Mohd Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana as well as Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohd Reza Pahlevi Isfahani will both face MAS's second-stringers in Goh Szi Fei/Nur Izzuddin and Ong Yew Sin/Teo Ee Yi for a place in the last 8. They have a pretty good chance of reaching the SF, facing very likely the top-seeded Minions. Imagine if (and that is A BIG IF) all the INA's young MD pairs in the top half of the draw all prevailed over the next 2 days, the Minions path will be: R16 vs Lucas Corvee/Ronan Labar QF vs Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan SF vs either Mohd Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana or Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohd Reza Pahlevi Isfahani That's another smooth route to the Final, picking up another 9,350 points to top the Road to Bali ranking. The bottom half is more interesting and Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin's road is filled with tough pairs: R32 vs Lu Ching Yao/Yang Po Han (lost to them in the French Open) R16 vs Lee Yang/Wang Chi Lin [3] Mohd Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan's path is not bad, until the SF: R32 vs Christo Popov/Toma Junior Popov R16 vs (likely) Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi
Yup, the repetitive draw often occuring in back to back BWF tours, just wondering how their software system is working.
Ong Yew Sin and Teo Ee Yi are world rank no.14...If taking out all the retired pairs I think they are world rank no.10. And they just beat Rankireddy and Shetty in straight sets today. But yes, since they went independent,I'm not sure if their form is affected or not by that,so still a chance for Indonesian pair to win. Sent from my SM-A307GN using Tapatalk
Heo Kwang Hee lost again. He said that he once intended to retire until he beat Momota. But what's the point of beating Momota these days when you're not making any progress
I agree. Didn't he beat popov couple weeks ago too? He got lucky he got to semi cause VA pulled out couple weeks ago too. Not sure. To be honest, Korea team is super weak. These new men's doubles players are not gonna crack top 5 ever. Kang, Kim, and some of these other guys are good but not that good. 3 hopefuls on korea team are all women: asy, beak ha na, Lee yu rim. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
the missing ingredient is obviously power. none of them possess a smash that could turn a rally around. everything else is fundamentally sound.
