True Story This is not a fiction. Totally based from my experience. Last time i used to buy Yonex Racquets.Still remember one time bought Yonex MP 77 which cost me about RM3++.00 It is great to have such a highend racquet to play with. But it didnt last me more than 3 months.(This really hurted me that moment !!! seriously no kidding) From that moment onward I did not buy any more YY brand. I changed to Pro Ace brand which is more long lasting !!! And currently using Apacs Edge Saber 10. Just my 2 cents Happy Badminton
We heard so many cases broken yonex racquet while playing. Ok anyone with same experince with other brand's raquet.???
Well, i am sure people breaks xxxbrands rackets as well. We are hearing more of yonex rackets breaking because a yonex AT900T will cost ard SGD$250, while a clone will cost around SGD$60. So when one break a yonex AT700T, he/she will tend to grumble over their loss of their rackets, while if a clone breaks, people will just say, "well, its just $60, its worth the price". And also not to forget the ratio factor. There are much more yonex users than other brand users in this world, so the tendancy to hear from people that yonex rackets breaking is much more then the chance of hearing an xxxbrand breaking.
Yes , its ok, understand u. I just want, whoever have same experience with other brands. Please share with us here Becoz, I never read, I never heard, and I never saw For yonex brand, I've read, I've heard, and I've seen. Just list it here, if any
For me myself, I have broke 2x apacs armorpower880 1x proace abspower1000 Of course for me i wouldnt have broken alot of rackets before, i arent a super big hitter.
It is of very hard to draw any conclusion without hard figures.. I can only draw from personal experience, that I have had far more durability issues with Yonex rackets than any other brand I have used.. I think Yonex has improved the durability in the latest YYs (Arc, AT900T/P, new AT700 etc all seems improved over earlier models durabilty wise). I have had serious durability issues with some of the models.. Especially Ti Swingpower SP,SX, NS8000 and early NS9Ks.. As always I think it is stupid to generalize between brand names.. There are of course no such thing as a durable or not durable "brand", just durable or not so durable models!! What has ticked me off some times historically with Yonex is the "grumpyness" with warranties.. A proud Japaneese company should really honor world wide warranties for customers buying the real thing (just Like sony does it for example), if there are obvious manufacturing defects or durability issues with their goods. /Twobeer
so for now, whoever broke their cheap brand racquet, just post it here, If not, people will think that it only happen to yonex racquet, hehehe I will post if i broke mine
It could happen to anyone, I guess For what it's worth, I've broken a D-600 (SOTX)... :crying::crying::crying: It was a very new racket and it happened as I hit a backhand drive. No clash or anything. I guess it was prolly a one-off (freakish) thing(y)...:crying: By the way, I'm not what you'd call a 'big-hitter' or anything like that...
My broken list runs from ProKennex to Ashaway to Yonex to APACS. Modes of failure ranges from hitting the floor to the frame just collapsing. My longest lasting rackets are still the Cabs. That said, I not so recently lost my first Cab30 to a stupid shot. Still grieving over the loss not because it's expensive (it's 2nd hand) but that I lost a great racket to plain stupidity.
I used to break one racket around 3-4 months period (clash, hit the ground, or just string it to hard (bent)). Previously, I only believed in Yonex, which cost me around US$180-200 a piece. Now, I am using APACS, which cost me US$38-45 a piece. You can see, I can get 4 to 1 and still enjoy the game. Performance wise, they are pretty comparable. I just have to play with strings tension to get the sweet spot of the rackets.
Quality wise, a lot of brands make equal quality (better, if you'd ask some) equipment, comparing to yonex. -ashaway strings are just as good as yonex's -I find the Hi-tec 4-sys's just as good as yonex's models -rackets: a lot of contenders, but i'll stick with what I know: Sotx -clothing, well, a lot of brands -Bags: a hard one... Karakal, babolat and wilson make soem nice ones, from what In see -grips: wilson/karakal for normal grips, RSL for towelgrip. All in all, I'd say a lot of brands are "just as good", but... What other brand does well in all those categories? right.... I can't imagine why anybody would be against such a nice brand.... (but, I also can't place myself in the shoes of the fanboys either...)
My opinion on this: String: Ashaway is comparable to Yonex in performance and durability. Gosen is comparable in performance but much less durable. Shoes: Yonex still the best for performance. Durability is just average. Rackets: SOTX, APACS, RSL, Mizuno and Victor are all comparable to Yonex. Bags: Yonex still makes the best and most functional bags. Babolat has excellent quality but function is sometimes not there. Others worth of mention, Adidas, Wilson, some Prince, Volkl, Kneissel. Grips: Yonex is great but no durability, lots of other grips are good. Overall: you can't go wrong with Yonex when it's badminton related. As a manufacturer as a whole, Yonex consistently beats out the others. Yonex is strong in all areas. Just keep in mind the price is at a premium and durability on some items maybe not so great.
Quoted for truth Though I must say, for a 'small' brand, RSL carries a pretty complete package as well. Their 0.70 ti-string is pretty nice... Haven't tried their shoes... the grip is not as good. But allround, it's pretty good. (clothing, bags, rackets, shuttles are good stuff)
For me, RSL string has a long way to go. RSL's clothing = good but doesn't have my size, even in 4XL it's tight. Bags: all too small and a bit short and not aesthetically pleasing. Shuttles: recently not so good. Even the T#1 and Classic Tourney. Grips: only one is decent, the tacky one. For overall, all-out quality, Mizuno would have to be tops in my books, but hard to find and $$$. I've not used one Mizuno badminton product that was made poorly.

Schweet! But the APACS AP1003 is sufficient. It's the biggest 3 compartment bag I've found so far at nearly 17" wide at the base and when fully packed and stretched out, it's 22" wide in the middle!
