MX80 - Still the pick of the bunch! :) Has there been a single bad review of this piece of carbon fiber loveliness?

    BS10 sold, now to buy a back-up........

Mine too, MX80 is really getting the greatness out of me. My smashes are getting very precise and fast. Clearing, lifting are all piece of cake, best thing of all is that it's super fast. What backup are you getting maklike ? Wait for the MX70 ?

I'm getting another MX80, of course!

Currently in my bag I have the MX80, BS11 (Frankensword), BS12, and Forza Ti550S; so they pretty much cover the spectrum of what I could need on any given day.

However, the MX80 just does it all, and looks 1000% awesome doing it. Form and the function.

I've made a horrible habit of indulging my love of gear despite meagre resources, so now I think it's time to settle down.

Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here today......lol.......

wow I'm envious of how many rackets you guys can afford!
I get scared to play with my MX80 sometimes incase someone clashes with me :crying: and we do have this one big guy at our club who you shouldn't get in the way of!
Think my next purchase will be the BS09, simply because LYD plays with it haha, I know it's not a good reason to get a racket but it would look nice in my collection :D

Hey, I'm a stay-at-home Dad, I ain't got heaps of spare cash. Actually, although I've had *cough* about 12 rackets in 2 years, I've only actually bought 4-5 rackets. If you buy popular rackets, and they don't get beat up, AND you buy them at the very best price you can, then you can often sell them pretty close to what you bought them for.

What I did is of course first try some Yonex, and you can actually sell them second hand for the same price as a Victor is new, so you can try two rackets for the price of one. Rackets like the BS10 and SW35 hold their value very well, and I sold mine for almost what I bought them for, so if you're a bit smart about it, you can almost try 3 rackets and only actually pay for one.

heh, yeah, maybe. It is a bit of a looker ;)

Man, we need some more photos of that thing. I think the Chinese are asleep on the job, they should be posting up more photos so we can drool over them.

it looks like both MX80 & VT80 are competing in receiving good reviews on BC. a week ago i had choices to buy either one of them, and i chose to buy VT80 (which after total 8 hours of playing with it, i'm getting used to & loved it). what would've happened if i had chosen MX80 instead? maybe i'd be one of those writing the reviews on this thread.

Yeah probably. I dunno.....I'm not sure why the VT80 and MX80 get compared at all, or why people would narrow a choice down to just those two rackets. They're very, very different beasts, coming at the same problems from very different starting points.

Still, curious to try the VT80 at some point, but I'm already big and slow, so the last thing I need is a big and slow racket.

maklike, i saw u said u've tried ns9900 and mx80 on the other thread, so are there similar in stiffness or mx80 feels less stiff? Does it requires lots of wrist power?

If you can handle the stiffness of the 9900, you'll have no trouble with the MX80

The problem is I can't really handle ns9900 as it is quite demanding. Can't play it very well all the time. Does it have better smashing power?

Hi ben3003, try to get a MX80, you will like it. If you are hard attacker, you can consider sw 35 or 36. If you don't like it, you can sell it to me... Haha.

It's all round racket. Fast, but slower if compare to BS series. But, rear court, easier if compare with BS11 or 12. Powerful, but not as good as SW series. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The Spira is more of a front court racket. It plays EXTREMELY well in the front, fast, and has good feel.
It doesnt lack power, its just a bit harder to really unlock.

I am sure the meteor is: more powerful;slower;more stable;stiffer.

i don't recall the spira being for front court or fast

i believe it is head heavier and slower than mx80

    JW, Have you used it?

some disclosure, i haven't used a meteorx80 beyond 10 minutes. but i did get the sense it was slower than the spira, because i switched back to the spira right after.

edit: noticed in my above post, forgot the mention the standard IMO. that was my opinion, of course.
