definitely MM will have a slight advantage tomorrow as she was given a walkover by JS. But I hope to see Akane to go further.
Quite true, without seeing the match, we can't tell how it happened. Let's wait for the replay. Don't forget, Akane lost to Han Li just last week. Still , Akane has caused a big stir with this sensational win, let's see how far she can go from here. Sincerely, I believe Intanon won't go the way of former WCs Zhu Lin and Lu Lan who quickly faded away after that. Intanon is not only highly talented, she is also quite young, time is on her side.
To me, a truly world class player is not disadvantaged just because her opponent has a rest day, considering the amount of training and fitness level she is supposed to be having unless she is being subjected to several rounds of grueling 3-setters before the next match. It should all boils down to who is the better player of the day. For example, just look at Du Pengyu who at the last WC had four previous rounds of grueling 3-setters, yet he showed little sign of fatigue in the semifinal against none other than Lee CW and gave his formidable opponent a very tough fight.
Probably just a fluke, or Boe/Mogensen heavily underestimating them. Boe/Mogensen beat this same MAS pair 21-10 21-9 last week
Chen Long drops the 1st game to Lee DK...hmmm, I think he might be reluctant to play Lee CW again so soon, for strategic reasons maybe. Sigh...
chen long is known for good exam student,he score great when the exam is on schedule. let see if he survive surprise test from the teacher
if i'm CL's coach i'll not allow him to play against LCW until the Thomas Cup at the earliest. just to Keeps Up that winning feeling until the big one.
I know what you mean, to maintain the psychological edge for the more important majors. Obviously, he is trying to frustrate Lee CW, keep him in suspense, and not give him a chance to break the momentum which is now clearly in CL's favour. Also I think CL didn't want to do well here and then be forced to defend his title without affecting his ranking in future. Still I can't help but feel somewhat pissed off by it - I'd rather he continue to tighten the screw on Lee CW by beating him again and on his home ground at that, in effect inflicting a double whammy on Lee CW.

But I believe Chen Long will want to play and win at the coming All England where he is the defending champion otherwise he would risk losing too many ranking points.
