If the Japanese can't move from their defensive nature to just lift and lift, they will be easily demolished. Should play more flat games and drive-block defences

Congratulations Okuhara! She's quickly attaining legend status. Has to be the favourite for Olympic Gold this year. But anything can happen in WS these days.

If I'm not mistaken, none of these MD pairs have ever won a Super Series. To bag the All England as your first Super Series must be a rarity!

One smash is enough for Ivanov to get a point.

It looks like the Japanese pair have made 6 Super Series tournament finals, but have never won! Similar to Kenichi Tago in MS. This is the Russian pair's first Super Series final.

20-20 in the first set, the Japanese saving 2 set points!

ivanov should get tired at some point of the match and those hard steep smashes might lose the spark. .that first game was so crucial for them.

Can't even understand what Chen Jin is doing. He should have been fired or demoted a long time ago.

Just look at where China is. A country with no dirth of talent, is facing a situation where none of its senior 3 are able to perform, and the juniors were never paid attention to. Look at He Bing Jiao. She is essentially in the same group as Akane, yet she was never even sent properly to International Tournaments.

Similarly, look at WD. China has mind boggling talent and skill in WD, but still managed to lose this All England.

On the other hand, Japan paid attention to a group of youngsters, which is reaping fruit in the form of Akane and Nozomi.
