Are those GR334? That one came close to winning for me, too.

I have mine right on the wood, and as good as the Ashaways are, their glue is so strong you need a blowtorch to change them over...

Yikes. I have mine done up this way. GR50 to make a butt > electric tape to hold the butt shape and cover the wood > GR50 to get the right girth > GR334.

I found the adhesive on towel grip are strong enough to rip pieces of wood off the handle when I removed them, so I had to wrap the handle with something first (electrical tape). And to get the butt, I wrap around the butt twice.

Oh! You also have an AT800DF! I'm gonna have to call you brother from another mother, or something cliche! But sadly my AT800DF has developed the infamous AT800 12 o'clock crack. So I had to retire the racket, it now hangs on the wall in my living room as a piece of decor.

Saving an original grip that had towel grip directly stuck on it...

Black tape on original grip, then cellophane, then the usual big butt treatment, and then AC102.

    That's a really big butt.

What did you use as the big butt treatment?

    That's the cellophane?

It's just a cut up strip of replacement grip.

Replacement grip, cut till left the double sided tape area, and then further into half. Done.

Any overgrip that is 1100-1200mm can usually do that. But it also depends on how much said grip can stretch.

    Standard pre-cut Yonex AC102EX.

Depends on your overlap between layers, I only stretch the base first round, and do not pull for the remaining overlaps.

I can go to the shaft aka Lilyana style if I want to, but no point. Used to finish nicely at the cone tip, but nowadays I end at the YY logo on the cone or thereabouts.

Wait, so I don't quite get it. This is replacement grip? It looks super thick, like it's almost 1 cm thick (or is that, because it is so close to the camera?)

Also what double sided tape area do you mean? The grips I know don't have a double sided sticky area. Is it just a Yonex Overgrip cut into thinner slices?

Thank you for any help. :)

Its a yonex AC420ex or karakal pu super grip. A replacement grip, not overgrip.

Normally when you look at the double sided area, theres a double sided tape but isnt covering the whole width. I trim away that said area, leaving only the double sided tape.

Then i cut further into half.
