I have checked in the information of your Yonex
    NS8000 5437121 140352TH (date=14 Mar 2005)
NS8000 5437083 140352TH (date=14 Mar 2005) to my information list of Yonex rackets made in Japan, their serial nos. and date codes are legitimate.
However you still need to inspect the other physical features of the rackets carefully and compare with the standard specifications to ascertain their total legitimacy or authenticity yourself.

I have checked in the information of Armortex 800 OF in Ebay 4918771 120542TH (date=12 May 2004) to my information list of Yonex rackets made in Japan, its serial no. and date code are legitimate.

I was surprise that this item is still up for sale in eBay becasue I have confirmed the same pair of serial no. and date code to ianne_ianne of Manila Philippines on 10 Jan 2005.

    Thankyou leehsim,

BTW, I could not find the post you mentioned earlier for the same serial codes of the racquet of ianne_ianne. Is it in this forum or different forum? since I am interested in buying a new authentic racquet, so I need to confirm this is not a fake again.

The post I mentioned is listed under Forum: Badminton Central Discussion Forums, subForum: Serial Number Verifier Thread: Post your Yonex serial numbers here! Post: 528
    Link: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8152

Even the serial no. and date code are legitimate, you still need to look at the features of the racket in order to confirm its total authenticity.

    Serial number check

Can you guys check if this is a valid serial number:

    5440427 - 150352TH

Also, does anyone keep track if a number has already been checked because I am suspecting fakes may use serial numbers of existing racquets.

    Thanks!

Just wondering in curiousity...How exactly do you guys check? Is this by research or you just know? I want to know because you might not be here for us every time we want to know if our racks are valid :p

I have no permission to access the page. That's ok though, I saw some recommedation about the ebayer name tum98 somewhere in this thread, and I think I have a good chance of buying a authentic racquet

    Thankyou for you help :D

I have checked in the information of of your racket 5440427 150352TH (date=15 Mar 2005) to my information list of Yonex rackets made in Japan, its serial no. and date code are legitimate.
You did not indicate the model but my guess is Yonex Nanospeed 8000.
However you still need to inspect the other physical features of the racket carefully and compare the specifications to ascertain its total legitimacy or authenticity yourself.

Thanks! I really appreciate the quick response. It is an NS 8000. Is there a post / page anywhere that lists features to check for or compares a fake to an original (I am buying this as a gift for my brother and I am fairly new to badminton so I hope the guys here will show me around faster  )

Maybe u want to specify the model? If this is a high end "yonex", then it should be a fake due to high shaft serial. If it's a lower end model, it might be real, as the serial # start with 9 means it's made in CHN.
