Relax... They're probably just targeting a different tournament, ie next week's AE. We shall soon see... Sent from my SM-G988W using Tapatalk
Mate, I've been watching their games for years. Trust me, they're not "targeting a different tournament", it is just the usual shithousery. I understand this is the year of the tiger. Last year was the year of the Mickey Mouse and tournaments during that year should not be overestimated.
A good win in two games over Kim and Kong to move into the semifinals of the All England. Perhaps the Badmintonforum commentators will be the ones acting out Tom and Jerry.
I'm not mad at being wrong in this particular instance. And let's not get ahead of ourselves. One swallow doesn't make a summer.
Let's gooo. They played well, I must say, although they were still quite error prone. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
I really like their aggressive style -- very dynamic, and not content to just lifting everything, but finding opportunities to drive the defense back. They've become a much more stable pair nowadays. Sure, there are still the occasional glitches, but it is happening less often, imo. If they keep working on their stability, they can surpass Nagamatsu soon, since they can get to the finals by beating Korean and Chinese pairs, rather than relying on the luck of the draw.
Not a good performance today losing in QF against Kim and Kong. Didn’t seem to have a good rhythm or the Koreans upset their rhythm. Home ground not nice for the Japanese players
What a disappointing way to lose in yesterday's French Open final. I was really hoping they would win it, but watching how passive they were with a 5 point lead at match point was really frustrating. As much as I don't like that Chinese pair, they deserved to win.
You gotta get used to this common theme among Japanese players. It's very common for them to be in huge leads or advantageous positions but it ends up with them just simply throwing the matches with mistakes and nerves or being unable to close off the games. I just cannot be at ease even when they have 7-8 MPs, especially against Chinese players. This pair, Hoki/Koba, Okuhara and even to some extent Wata/Higa are the usual suspects.
I know this is a Nami/Chiharu thread but just to reiterate my point above, Hoki Koba lost their shot at a a first AE finals when they blew their 12-4 lead in Game 2 against Alfian/Ardianto. Absolute flops.
Unfortunately another loss, at least it was a much better contended game today. Need to cut down on those errors and half court lifts.
