i never heard of russian before, so i cannot comment.

 

Lin Dan himself is for sure Hakka, although he comes from Fujian Province. I doubt that he knows Hokkien dialect (one of the many dialects in Fujian Province). Yeah, XXF is of course Cantonese.

 

Not for those in their 70's and 80's, with whom I can communicate in Hokkien very smoothly. Their Hokkien is still pure

Yes, of course, Putonghua is the official language of the country, and the common language among the Chinese from the various dialect groups.

I heard an ex-Chinese player on one tournament commenting on how much time LD spends on his hair - want to look good even when playing, huh.
