The book also helps simplify instructions

Another comment I got from those who bought the book is that it actually helps them understand the techniques taught by their coaches. Some coaches aren't able to explain the step-by-step execution of some strokes and it's causing some students to not "get it" even though it's being demonstrated in front of them. They've commented that they had 'aha!' moments thanks to reading the book and continuing with their training--they finally get what their coach is trying to teach them thanks to the book's stroke descriptions and explanations.

One specific example is the jump smash. One guy mentioned he couldn't believe the explanation in the book until he tried it (he didn't believe you had to 'kick'). He was surprised it actually worked and it was a stroke that he had been trying to learn for a long time from various trainers.

Another guy who had several trainers said he always felt his smash wasn't as strong as it could be. It was only after reading the explanation in the book about the wrist action and pushing range that his stroke finally got some explosiveness and depth. He was surprised his various trainers were never able to explain adequately what was missing (in terms of more power) in his stroke.

I think one advantage we have over other books is that it's written from the perspective of a non-expert. Since I'm not a national player, I have to interpret Butch's teachings in a way an ordinary player can understand. Several time, I've asked Butch to explain and re-explain certain techniques because I'm unable to understand without his background in local and world tournaments--I feel this has made the book richer in terms of explaining better for us regular playes how the top players do things.

Some books, since they're written by experts, make too many assumptions and use terms that only tournament-grade players understand. Butch and I always try to break the techniques down so that it's understandable for everyone. We've also emphasized putting in a lot of photos and illustrations, which is also another advantage the book has over other badminton instructional manuals.

Xoom said it was cancelled

Hi. According to Xoom the payment was cancelled so your money was credited back to your account.

If this was a mistake, maybe you can try again. Anyway, to double-check, could you private message me your email address and I'll check if your email is the same one that belongs to the cancelled order.

Thanks.

Yup--when more stuff are added, you get to download them too

Current videos:

High Backhand 4.5 MB
Backhand Smash 2.4 MB
Deception (1-2-3-4 Movement)/Backing Up 1.6 MB
Pushes At the Net 3.2 MB
Drop Slice (inward swing) 1.4 MB
Drop Slice (outward swing) 1.6 MB
Crosscourt Net Shot (past-body grip) 8.9 MB
Jump Smash 392 KB
Backhand Serve 2.3 MB
Forehand Smash 1.6 MB

And yes, whenever Butch and I find new techniques that we feel will really help a player, we'll create an article teaching the new technique and purchasers of the eBook can just login and download the new article (no need to pay again).

Just recently, we added an article on "stroke speed" (how fast or slow you should hit a stroke depending on what you're trying to do) and contact time (how long the shuttle keeps contact with the strings of your racket and its effect/advantage depending on different strokes).

Hmm

Hmm. I've had buyers from New Zealand before w/o any problems.

Try logging into your Xoom account. Click on 'My Account'
Then click on 'My Profile'
Then click on 'Debit & Credit Cards' and fill in your PayPal account and see if it works.

do I have to create paypal account after creating xoom account?
so far i only create xoom account
if I choose direct debit/credit card payment I got this msg:
Xoom only accepts debit and credit cards issued in the United States. If you do not have a U.S. credit card, Xoom accepts U.S. bank accounts as well as PayPal.

If I try to pay with paypal method, it says:
The credit card you entered cannot be used for this payment. Please enter a different credit card number.

Edit: I tried it again, and try to follow the step by step carefully. Still giving those 2 messages.
