Uchida was very lucky in Bulgaria Open... Her opponent in the round of 16, Ella Diehl was injured in game 1... and her Bulgarian opponent in the WD withdrew due to another injury... So Uchida went to the quarterfinals of WS and WD Bulgaria Open by playing half a game... Lucky gal!
Go India!!! I want them to become the next badminton superpower! Message to BWF: India Super Series next! Drop one of the 2 China Super Series! Excessive!
I'm in the minority I guess. The quality of organizer of the last India Open is nowhere near SS standard. I wouldn't award it until they can improve the quality.
Off topic, I know... He he he... China should not be too greedy laaah... Here's how many tournaments held in China in the recent past: Olympic Games (ok, not every year) China Open Super Series China Masters Super Series Hong Kong Open Super Series Macau Open Gold GP Plus (occasionally) Invitational Badminton World Cup Is it too much to ask for a 'redistribution of Super Series'? India Super Series first... (just make China Masters like Copenhagen Masters laaah) then think about... America Super Series later... (meaning we have to categorize Hong Kong Open as Gold GP) (sorry, HK... but having THREE Super Series in Chinese territories is truly excessive... badminton won't grow fast enough worldwide that way)
16 smash winners by Mel-Shendy in game 1, versus 5 smash winners by the Taiwanese... INA pounded the Taiwanese with overwhelming firepower so far... Hope this doesn't change...
