WD hard. The rest got higher chance
Malaysia's biggest opponent in MD is definitely JJS/LYD.
As for MS, I think LCW's toughest opponent is......Peter Gade?

US$40K for MS win and get to keep them all, no splitting...that is >RM150K for 5 days of badminton, not bad, a lot more than plenty professional engineers made in a whole year in MAS...do you think Dato is sad or disaapointed with LD out....with LD and CJ out, and playing at home, LCW has enhanced his winning chances like last year...Dato should sent a thank-you card and commission to LD/CJ and most importantly, to LYB (yes, must be this Li guy again for manipulating the game) some big-time commission $$ for brokering the deal keeping both in CHN...for WD, WPT-CEH could win again like last year, make as much as both can with CHN out. LL playing solo could win the whole thingie and she is 'expected' to split the loot with her teammates back home....;):D:p

    nono, they can't.

yup, long time didn't see Cheng/Chien and Lee/Lee in the WD. Hope they can produce good results at the SS Final.

You could be right...but more likely, LYB has a kickback for broker fee to keep LD/CJ out...so Dato win, LYB win...win-win for both...even though USD has devalue a bit, still USD40K is lotsa dough...:p;)

..if only that's a norm in other tourneys, eh?..:p
Even for the Doubles events, the winning pairs will get $21,000 for each player. So, if LYD wins both the XD and MD events, he could net more than a winner in the Singles events ($42k). Of course, he might have to give up some to the national body.

Even retired players like GL, Wei Yili, Yang Wei, etc cannot make own decision kah? If they qualify lah, let's say.

    ^^If i recall..^^

..all players (incl. retired players) who want to play under the CHN flag must be approved by the CBA/Mr. LYB. Only in cases like Chen Hong or Zhou Mi or those who've moved to other countries, they would have to wait a yr or two or so before being granted a full release.

Yeah surely CJ is not coming to Malaysia. Remember, he was injured during the match against Jan Jorgensen in last China Open. Lucky this time BCL got the free ticket to Malaysia even his ranking is lowest.

Same thing apply to TH. His rank is lower than Simon's. TH got lucky just like BCL.:p

BCL and TH are currently ranked 3rd in their National standings

    .
    That's for sure. :):):)

Both BCL and TH are currently ranked 3rd in their respective National standings. Both are lucky to be able to be included in this 2009 BWF Super Series Masters Mens Singles Finals.

And they both have a good chance to win the title too. ;):)

As much as I would like to patronize your view that they have a GOOD chance, you got to remember LCW is unbeatable at home. They should aim for 2nd place podium at best.
