    Wow, all 4 of the top Japanese WD pairs, with a current world ranking of 3, 6, 7 and 17 lost in the round of 16 today. What are the odds of that happening?

    Hendra A. Gunawan/Alvent Yulianto Chandra progress to the QF after a comfortable 21-13, 21-14 victory over Ingo Kindervater/Johannes Schoettler tonight. Mission accomplished in HKG as they fulfil their seeding and defend the 5040 pts won last year. They will face this pair again in the opening round of China PSS next week.

    Meanwhile, they are up against Ko Sung Hyun/Yoo Yeon Seong for a place in the last 4 tomorrow. If it's an afternoon match, I will watch them again.

    As at today, for the Chinese WS, we have;

    Wang Shixian as......No.1
    Wang Yihan as........No.2
    Wang Xin as...........No.3

    Let's hope that your WX can return to the top.

    I promise,the day Wang SX acquired a lethal smash as one of her killer shots, I will love her again. As until now,I simply can't bear to see her often being caught flat-footed by her opponent's smashes when she herself could have delivered the coup de grace by smashing hard herself - instead she chooses to high-lift,punch-clear,drop-shot,placement shot and,out of the blue,the shuttle comes back with interest (arrgh..ooosh,it hurts,me not her).

    I certainly do hope so.As everybody knows,you can't simply go by ranking;just as in the MS, Lee CW is always ranked # 1 but Lin Dan is The Greatest.

    Next , Peter The Great is going to make his grand entrance and soon Yamada would be laying the red carpet to welcome him with the 90 degrees Japanese bow.

    However, I prefer to go with the rankings. :):):)

    It's no point being a good player, and not winning at our regular tournaments, and/or participating less in tournaments (and therefore not getting ranking points).

    Currently in China, Chen Long is better than Lin Dan (unless Lin Dan comes out to score higher ranking points than Chen Long).

    I don't believe in NATO (No Action, Talk Only). :p:p:p

    I believe in recent form. Does Taufik reflect his world number 8 ranking NOW? You also have to look at tournaments played. 10-15 are a decent number while some have 20 which is way too much.

    Yes, we go back to NATO (No Action, Talk Only).

    Let's see if Taufik can return to form, to become the champion of the SEA Games happening this week (the same time as this Hong Kong Open is happening). :):):)
