2011 Japan Open SS: Day 5 (Semi-Finals) Sat 24-September

2011 Japan Open SS: Will we get a Lee Chong Wei-vs Lin Dan match at the Finals?

.
From yesterday's thread;

Some might think that the Chen Jin [6]-vs-Lin Dan [2] match could be organised as another 'fixed' match, allowing Chen Jin to win.

But for me, I think this time Lin Dan would show his true colour and win this QF match. Why? Because it looks like Lee Chong Wei could be the one arriving at the Finals from the Top Half of the Draw.

Questions:

* Would CHN allow Lin Dan to reach the Finals from the Bottom Half of the Draw to face Lee Chong Wei?

or

* Would CHN send a lower player (Chen Jin [6] or Chen Long [4]) to face Lee Chong Wei?

Let's wait and see. :):):)

I would say............LD will get past CJ but will let CL to face LCW if CL got past JOJ .....!!

Wow, this LD has improve so tremendously...........i mean his acting skills.....!!:D

Spot on !.......I predicted it correctly !!:D

Tomorrow, he will 'let' CL win.....................!!:D

So, Lin Dan decided to win and meet LCW in the Final?

not so quick. there is also CL.
.
:D:D:D So... We are still guessing if there could be a Lee Chong Wei-vs Lin Dan match at the Finals on Sunday 25-Sep-2011.

It's nice to see SF wd with all different countries....so competitive....

It's been a while that the outcome of the champion wd still blurry....nice change....

in spite of more variation in national representation,
Korea that did very well in Taipei 2 weeks ago and prevented CHN clean sweep last week,
will not be represented by any player in Semifinal

CHN : 7
MAS, INA, Denmark, Germany, Chinese Taipei (for each): 2
India, JPN, Hongkong (for each): 1

CHN have booked 2 places in final, MS and WS
INA take one MD final spot already

The organizers smells something fishy and are smart to schedule CL vs LD's match before LCW vs PG match. Al least CHN won't know if LCW or PG would win. LCW may just do a LD, sighting shoulder injury. Haha.

Btw, would there be team orders in INA's MD match?

Nah, back injury or knee injury more logic, LCW got those injuries before. The knee needs to be all wrapped up though ;)

LOL.. it would not, IMO

Kindra and BoSan are trained in different camp
BoSan is under PBSI (Indonesia national camp), while Kindra are independent players.

and it is not in situation that they "need doing something about team order"

They need help themselves, IMO
Currently, three top INA MDs have relatively same chance to play in OG2012
BoSan (WR 6), Kindra (WR 7), and Alvent/Hendra (WR 9), whose WR points are close each other.

I do not know if there exists such rule that
the little brother should let his older brother to win.. or the older give the chance for his younger to play next year
:D :p
would wonder about that

Check this one out.

Cheng Wen Hsing plays WD with Chien Yu Chin on court 3 at 12:00pm

LD v CL follows.

Then Cheng Wen Hsing plays XD with Chen Hung Ling.

If as expected there is hanky panky in the LD v CL match, especially a walkover or retirement, Cheng could end up playing again after a game's (not a match) break or even incredibly, back to back matches.

The organizers should have put her second match as the last one on the TV court.

Indeed one can be blunter by calling the organizers are less professional in match schedule arrangement! :p

It goes unnoticed that Korea is not represented in SF! What a rare occasion!!

You can have your beauty sleep

it's gonna hard for me to catch the match at 11 am tomorrow... there goes my late rise Saturday :(
.
Never-mind, you can have your beauty sleep on Saturday. :):):)

But on Sunday (Finals Day), if Lee Chong Wei is to face Lin Dan, then you will need to miss your beauty sleep. :p:p:p

I think this is the first time seeing a super series semi final played on 3 courts. Usually only 2 courts maximum.
