R2 has added eight more seeded casualties to R1's seven.
They are:
Sho SASAKI [6]
Miyuki MAEDA /
Satoko SUETSUNA [5]
Juliane SCHENK [8]
Kien Keat KOO/Boon Heong TAN [6]
INA's Dion and TH scored great wins over Sasaki and Chen Jin respectively.
JPN suffered the most losses with three casualties followed by TPE's two.
But TPE's young lady star Tzu Ying Tai-phooned the erstwhile sturdy German soldier JS into oblivion. But her THA counterpart, the famous Rat, was not as successful, falling into the hands of cutie Ji Hyun SUNG in the rubber.
CNH's newly discovered MD sensation, Wei HONG and Ye SHEN discarded MAS' inconsistent hopeful KKK/TBH in a three-gamer. So CHN can now rely on at least three credible MD to face all opposition.
UK continues to keep its XD flag flying with Adcock and Bankier continuing their fine run to eliminate the formidable Koreans, Yoo and Jang. So too did compatriots Robertson and Wallwork who dashed the hopes of TPE's Chen and Cheng (5) in relatively quick time.
For today's QF, I wonder who will be next in line to fall. Will the Chinese wall be able to withstand the onslaughts? The following matches should be very interesting:
* Li Xuerui (7) v Saina Nehwal (4)
* Hong/Shen v Jung/Lee (2)
* LD (2) v TH (TH is not even seeded. Can he surprise us by taking LD to 3 games?)
* Chai/Guo (5) v Boe/Mogensen (3)
* Tian/Zhao (2) v Pedersen/Rytter Juhl (7)
