Many big names take part here that expected to produce competitive tournament post World Championships last month.

JPN Open is started from qualifying round today (10.00am local time) that dominated by home shuttlers.

Looking forward to exciting encounters from the early round to finale :)

I love an underdog. :) But some of the most likeable underdogs have pretty tough draws:

Sony Dwi Kuncoro faces Anand Pawar then, if successful, Lee Chong Wei
Tien Minh Nguyen faces Wang Zhengming
Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk faces Tommy Sugiarto.
Takuma Ueda faces Jan O Jorgensen

At any rate, there is a lot of talent at this meet. :)
(But it does make the prize money total look a little paltry to go around)

Sayaka Sato passes qualification round, she will take on her compatriot Eriko Hirose tomorrow.

Man-yi typhoon sis? I read the typhoon hits central Japan.
ya, Man Yi typhoon. I heard it is going to pass Tokyo today. Hopefully all players are not affected by the cancellation of flights. Heard that more than 100 flights were cancelled.

why is it showing in TS in Wednesday's results that Li Gen/Zhang Nan lost to Lee/tsai, when the match haven't even started yet. According to TS the Chinese lost 21-0, 21-1. I don't think Li Gen play that bad:rolleyes:

The flight is normal now :)
Nguyen TM forced rubber game, 21-11.

First round exit for newly-crowned CHN Masters winner, 14-21 / 21-11 / 21-14 for Nguyen Tien Minh.
