MS : Lee Hyun Il (KOR)
WS : Michelle Li (CAN)
MD : Liang Jui Wei/Lu Chia Pin (TPE)
WD : Choi Hye In/Lee So Hee (KOR)
XD : Max Schwenger/Carla Nelte (GER)

The overall cast isn't too much different with previous week US Open except less competitive WD category, some INA shuttlers who pulled out at New York will show up here. CAN Open is shifted from Vancouver to Calgary this year, once staged World Championships back to 1985.

Both MS top contenders, Lee Chong Wei and top-seed Marc Zwiebler are expected to meet at last round. A number of average players like Ueda, Gurusaidutt, Praneeth, Chong Wei Feng, Vincent Wong Wing Ki may trouble the frontrunners en route to the final. Second seed, China youngster Xue Song should redeem his disappointment R/32 exit in US Open and go further in this GP.

Defending champion Michelle Li will have major threat from Japanese ladies, Takahashi, Mitani, Hashimoto, Sato and US player Zhang Beiwen. First round tricky test script for home favourite as Shen Yaying most likely will be her opponent.

It's interesting to follow the newly crowned winner and runner-up US Open, Li/Liu and Attri/Reddy respectively whether they could make it back to back successful. Top seed, Adistia/Gunawan is strong fave to snatch victory.

Muskens/Piek, Matsuo/Naito, Gutta/Ponnappa will capitalise the absence of powerful CHN WD as they only field the weak combination Huang DP/Zhu MC who lost disasterly to TPE pair at R/32 last week.

The XD rivalry will feature Fuchs/Michels, Reginald Lee CH/Chau HW, Arends/Piek also China young sensation Huang KX/Huang DP, two INA pairs Adistia/Marissa and Kurniawan/Dewi are predicted to add stiff competition here.

WS top-seed Akane Yamaguchi withdrew also MS 4th seed Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka as well.

Best game so far was Chong Wei Feng VS Lind Thomsen. Epic comeback and dives from Lind.

still CWF failed to maintain his winning form as from recent SEA game, seems like he need to be like how LCW made comeback last week US Open...

it looks like CWF performs very well when he represents his country. He did so in the last Thomas cup and then at the SEA games

Ah I was at cop today, lcw was very fun to watch! :DD & I have some videos to upload tonight if you guys are interested (;

I will be uploading some video too. Although unfortunately it will be in 720p only. There will be the full match of Lee Chong Wei VS Antonio Li.

A roller-coaster performance by Chong WF.

ROUND OF 32 (09.00am local time, 4 courts) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/matches.aspx?id=D44D9F8D-9646-49A5-BF0E-C98068AF6E65

Most of title contenders should have no problem to progress, three interesting ties to follow and may spring upset :
- Ajay Jayaram (IND) v Huang Yuxiang (CHN)
- Guo Kai (CHN) v Takuma Ueda (JPN)
- Michelle Li (CAN) v Shen Yaying (CHN)

After easy winning at first round, the strong favourite Lee CW will up against Youth Olympic Gold Medalist Shi Yuqi next, the former world #1 should be wary of Chinese youngster as he was troubled by Guo Kai in New York last week.

Looking forward to your videos. BTW how was the turnout?

Antonio li got beaten pretty badly by lcws casual play, my video isn't that great you can see lcws footwork best but not the other side of the court unfortunately. Holhm might have a better video than me.

Yeah, my video was the full court and recorded on a tripod. I'll link that video as soon as it's ready.
