Over and out from my side today. Congratulations to Lin Dan for already having won the gold at Rio. And thanks to all his fans for good entertainment.
OOT: World Snooker Championship Final China's Ding Junhui became the first Asian player to reach the world snooker championship final after beating Scotland's Alan McManus 17-11 in Sheffield, England on Saturday (April 30). Ding, the world number 17, compiled seven century breaks in the match to set a world championship record and will play England's world number one Mark Selby in the best of 35-frame final, which starts on Sunday. Selby beat Marco Fu of Hong Kong 17-15 in a gripping semifinal which included the longest frame in world championship history at the Crucible, lasting over 76 minutes. "I wanted to make the final but I feel normal. The tournament hasn't finished yet," Ding said.
Will the Korean pair Chang/Lee be in trouble if the lower Japanese pair won? won't the ranking points be more and knocked the Korean pair out of top 8.
Singapore right, we are not proud of it but our government are, what to do. Btw we only got success in table tennis. Our badminton suck even with the foreign import. As for soccer, it only south east Asia level with sub standard import. Nothing to hide comparing to those sore losers.
Right idea wrong example... you mixed the flag carrier official events vs the levels of commercial club or league matters. Among the bets on importing athletes to chase the Oly medals, the most naked cases come from the oil bonanza wealthy absolute Sheikhdoms in the Gulf... they spent a lot of money to allure the many top runners from those poor African countries such as Ethiopia etc to switch sides.
Yes, JPN and KOR pairs would change the last spot for Rio if Fukuman/Yonao would win... 14-10 for MM/AT atm. I really don't know what will happen. I would feel very sorry for Lee/Chang as they played quite good over the last months. Ooh JPN girls are on the rise! I wonder if the JPN culture allows such a team order. Having just discussed a lot about culture etc. in the Momota thread... Ooh wouldn't it be silly to not throw the match and let the underdogs win?! Very difficult to answer. Ethically they should win on their own effort and qualify if they are just better today.
Import foreign player is essential for the development of badminton. Look what Park did in Japan. Or even what TXH did in China!!!!
21-13 for MM/AT... in just 22min Underdogs fatigued or will they suddenly win the second game now 21-14 or sth.?!
From the looks of it (so far), JPN are honourable. I wouldn't be, to be honest. Gotta hand it to them.
Imagine the following scenario: I am playing a close match against a player and in the third set I cannot keep up with his speed and have no stamina left. After my opponent has a very big lead I give up on the match and decide that I'm not going to give everything I got anymore. Instead I play even worse - on purpose - and gift the third set to my opponent. Even though I know that I would probably have lost that match anyway, I don't have to admit that I truly lost because I was not giving my best in the third set. Also I spoil the victory of my opponent who of course knows what's happening. If I did this, people would accuse me of bad sportsmanship and of being a sore loser. But if LD does this, it's different of course. Why? Because it is all part of a big plan.
Park JB never plays for Japan, he is acting as coach from the outset. Tang XH was not imported, he returned to CHN as part of the mass reverse Chinese migration back to CHN due to the political turmoil in INA following up the event post the coup d'état that toppled the founding father, Sukarno (part of Cold War global dark ops).
