Now that we're at the business end of the Olympics, it's as good a time as any to reappear :p

The matches have been rather spread out. Instead, they should have allowed a bigger draw and not punish some of the players who deserved to be there.

If FHF wins a second gold, Zhang Nan will also win a second gold.

But Zhang Nan was not in the final of the 2008 Olympics.

Will ZYL be willing to let go of a bronze medal?

Will LYB give the order to the two pairs to play one game only?

I've got a funny feeling that the disciplines China were most fearful of not winning (WS and MD), and perhaps focussed on it the most in their Olympic preparation, are the ones they will end up winning.

To be honest, I'd been observing (and posting about it) for the last 12-18 months that China WD were sliding down. I was challenged with the usual excuses I think. Now they didn't even make the final. I think it's now safe to say that WD is the most "wide open" it's been for several eras.

Yes, but Zhang Nan needs to take up double duty in 2016, which is a lot harder than what FHF has gone through in 2008, 2012 and 2016.

Don't think LYB is in the mood for anything now. He's already failed, by China standards. Even if they pull off 3 Golds, which would be tough.

Have you seen their MD tournaments? Much harder than the joke of a SF they had in this one. And also harder than the Group ZZ had. Medals are medals, no matter the circumstances....everybody has prepared as well as they can for this. That's why you see no one arguing LCW was better in 2012, even though he had to come back from injury in record time.
Also, Zhang can match or outdo Fu at the next OG.

SJH wearing a skirt!!! Never seen that before!!

Even stranger is her jersey! It shows her full name instead of initials!
