2016 TOTAL BWF Thomas-Uber Cup Finals - Day 2 (16th May) : Group Stage

This time it is clearly proven that Japan have send a weaken team. Most Likely Japan won't be able to top the group match and certainly cannot win the Thomas Cup anymore.

The morning session ties most likely all 5-0. Like I said, nothing interesting at all.
Thomas Cup MAS v GER had the potential to be slightly interesting, but looking at the lineup, will be another whitewash.

So, only Uber Cup INA vs HKG holds our interest today.

You are right.

My predictions for today. Today once again we are going to see yet another lots of whitewash result with loop sided match. Here is my predictions for today. For today matches nothing interesting except for Hong Kong versus Indonesia.

Denmark win South Africa 5-0.

India win Australia 5-0

Thailand win Bulgaria 5-0

Japan win Mexico 5-0

Indonesia win Hong Kong 5-0

Malaysia win Germany 5-0

Chinese Taipei win New Zealand 5-0

Korea win Mauritius 5-0

China win France 5-0

Japan win Germany 5-0

Chinese Taipei win USA 5-0

Korea win England 5-0

Today result will also all totally favor country to win as it is all country with good badminton skills playing versus another country who have just started to pick up the skills.

strange Anggia-Poli can be WD1 as they are non-ranked, should be WD2, or do the Uber cup use Notionol points?
When the other partner is not able to play, the original partner will still be ranked higher then the rest of the other pair.

Did some research. Nitya / Greysia Polii is ranked no 2 in the world. Although Nitya is not playing this time the world ranking still stands at no 2 hence Anngia / Polii gets to play as WD 1.

Another picture of my favorite XD players. Too bad they won't have a chance to play in this edition of Thomas and Uber Cup 2016.

Yip Pui Yin brings Hong Kong leads 1-0 against Indonesia, def. Maria Febe Kusumastuti, 21-19 / 12-21 / 21-18. It's really important for team INA to level 1-1 through first women's doubles as HKG is favoured to seal third match through Cheung Ngan Yi.
