UBER CUP FINAL : CHN v KOR (01.00pm) => http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...8FF39E5-3CE5-4D78-A9E6-4199026B3C5D&match=144

WS1, Li Xuerui v Sung Ji Hyun
H-2- stats : 12-1 / WR : 3 v 7

WD1, Tian Qing/Zhao Yunlei v Jung Kyung Eun/Shin Seung Chan
H-2-H : 2-0 / WR : 4 v 6

WS2, Wang Shixian v Kim Hyo Min

H-2-H : 0-0 / WR : 6 v 41

WD2, Chen Qingchen/Tang Yuanting v Chang Ye Na/Lee So Hee
H-2-H : 0-0 / WR : - v 8

WS3, Wang Yihan v Lee Jang Mi
H-2-H : 0-0 / WR : 4 v 69

China Uber team as expected only had difficulty in first two matches, Li Xuerui needed three games to dispose Indian jewel Saina Nehwal then Wang Shixian made fantastic comeback to defeat P.V.Sindhu, from 8-18 down to 23-21 victory. The reigning Olympic Champion Tian Q/Zhao Yunlei outclassed Gutta/Nelakurihi without sweat, 21-6 / 21-6. India repeat 2014 Uber Cup achievement, bagging bronze medal once again.

The second semifinal saw third seed Korea denied the more-favoured Japan to repeat their final berth here. Sung Ji Hyun scored first point to upset the reigning All England champion Nozomi Okuhara who displayed below-par performance here. Then Jung KE/Shin SC brought 2-0 after stunned current's best women's doubles pair and the world number one, Matsutomo/Takahashi. Akane Yamaguchi kept Japan hope alive, she took first game 21-17 and 9-7 as Bae Yeon Ju conceded walkover due to injury. Chang YN/Lee So Hee sealed final ticket for 2010 champion, downed the under pressure Naoko Fukuman/Kurumi Yonao in straight-games.

China will face familiar foe, Korea. Both teams had faced off seven times in finals since 1988. The last time was 2012 edition when China blanked Korea in Wuhan. Top-seed China has amazing record in Uber Cup, they always reach final since 1984 participation, only slipped the title three times, 1994 and 1996 lost to Indonesia and 2010 was shocked by Korea. In this 2016 edition, China never drop any single match as they create perfect score en route to finale while Korea lost 1 point to Chinese Taipei at group stage also last night against Japan. The 8th time CHN v KOR duel this afternoon will see China is clear favourite to lift the trophy for fourteen times considering their statistics and team balance.

If the KOR team can take just one match today they indeed have been achieving something, in addition to be able to play in the final.

Until I read CLELY's stats I haven't realized that the KOR Uber team is such a frequent finalist in the modern era... they are truly a strong team in women's sector.

Hey CLELY

Why so much 'Pink' in the font? :D

I support Korea although I predict China will win 3-0
I hope the beautiful Sung Ji Hyun can beat Li Xuerui

You are right. I know Korea have no chance to win at all but to be able to play in the finals is already a big achievement. :)

I certainly hope that Korea will win at least one match to make me happy today.
