In the last 15 months I already had two broken racket handles with my Victor Light Fighter 7000 and 7400 and now it happened again

With all three rackets the wooden handle broke just below the end of the shaft while performing a backhand clear. When performing a backhand clear I usually grip very low at the end of the handle (bulge). I use towel grip over a layer of victor cushion wrap or directly on the wood.

The first two rackets got replaced without problems and I hope that will be the same for my current racket.

Does Victor use low quality wood for the Light Fighter series or is it my bad? Has anybody else experienced any similar problems with the Light Fighter series or victor rackets in general? I never had these problems with my Yonex Arc11 oder VT80. Is there anything I can do to prevent these problems?

    here are some images:

I work at a badmintonshop in Holland. And one of our costumers also broke 3 Light Fighter rackets in the handel. So the quality of the wooden handels they used for the Light Fighter series is very poor.

In case you didn't know, you can repair these quite easily - but it does take some time and care to do.

I repaired my BS11 with a new handle and it plays no different to how it was before.

Your theory is definitely plausible. I noticed that you use towel grip on your racket. I often recommend to others to put a layer of duct tape to cover the wood and then apply the foam wrap and towel grip over it. This should increase the longevity of your racket because it will prevent any moisture from the towel possibly being absorbed by the wood and weakening it and because duct tape in general is strong.

Nice idea! Back when I didn't play with towel grip I never removed the plastic wrap around the original grip and just applied an overgrip on top for the same reasons.

My most previous racket already broke during the first training session. I forgot to mention that in the first post. It didn't even last one match, so there couldn't have been that much moisture yet.

    Hi,
Looking for any information on broken badminton racket handles. I have broken 3 handles in the last 2 months. Could it be my swing/grip?

    Any info would be great

my practice partner broke 2 7400 handles.

I think it's the nature of such light frames, you have to take material from somewhere.

My mate has an epic technique, ex junior international. I think his wrist is just too strong for them.

I have friend broke a lot of Victor handles, he's sponsored so he gets free/cheap, but seems like it's pretty "common".
