Am I too heavy for badminton?

    For Asians, you will find the latest research pointing to BMI>28 as being excessive. :)

    For our original poster, one would worry less, the taller he or she is. For that weight, one would need to be more aware of the potential for injuries such as achilles tendon rupture, meniscal injuries or anterior cruciate ligament damage.

    Is your definition of elite a player who stands a chance against professional players? I picked up badminton when I was 15 and I'm 18 now and I still find that I have all the potential to grow. I don't believe players need to be "elite" to fulfill their desires of improving in badminton. As long as you practice hard, which I haven't been doing lately, you can improve and reach a very high level. Of course we aren't even thinking about reaching an elite level or professional level.

    I hate putting an age cap, on badminton.
