After much debate, after debating between two Yonex Rackets, I stumbled upon the Apacs racket line and I can finally say, I have found my racket.

    I am an intermediate player.
I play 2-4 times a week, at local clubs, and also few tournaments.
I am an all around player (drops, clears, smashes).
I want to upgrade to a new racket because I feel my Nanospeed 300 lacks power, but I still want that all around racket, which is good at offence and defense, as well as singles and doubles.
I wanted a racket I feel I will love, and be proud to own.

I have settled with the APACS TANTRUM 300. What do you think?

I am going to be ordering it very soon, but I have a few questions:

    1) What tension should I get? (was thinking around 25lbs) Cross tension?
    2) What type of string? (was thinking Yonex BG 65 OR 80)
    3) Grip? (was thinking Yonex Super Grap over top of pre-existing)

Any other suggestions or information I can know about Apacs would be great.

Cannot wait to try it out.

    My 2 Apacs rackets are:
    - Lethal 90
    - Training W-200

Loving the L90 by far. Stiffness and BP just nice for doubles.

    Apacs Tantrum 500 in trouble

Recently I purchase the apacs Tantrum 500 International. I put the tension at 28. Guess what, I smash a few times, and the frame broke! Not even 3 months old. Any idea what should I do? Very dissappointed cause apacs is suppose to be durable when it comes to high tension. This is not even 30! Yoou guys think its poor Quality Control?

you have picked the correct racket, T300 is good attacking racket for double or single. if you want more attacking one, you may try lethal 70/90.

    1) for tension, 25lbs is good introductory tension.
    2) BG65
    3) Yonex PU

that's quite unfortunate for you bro. i intended to get a t500 today, but after reading what u wrote, i'm considering otherwise.

or can it be a caused of your racquet being strung by an inexperienced stringer and he made some mistake when stringing?

Nope. The shop I go to is known to the badminton community very well. They have excellent service all around. I dont think its the stringing cause this people have been in the market very long. What else can I say? Apacs?? I sent the racket back to them. We'll see how they respond.

    Apacs Canada vs Apacs UK

I just ordered a Apacs Tantrum 300 from Apacs Canada. I have now just came acrosse the Apacs UK website, where they are also selling the Apacs Tantrum 300. I have noticed a difference in the specs of the two rackets, more specifically the balance.

    Canada Version: 285 +-5
    UK Version : 289 +-3

I have also noticed that all the reviews are for the UK version. From the looks of the balance the UK version seems to be head heavier. Why are they different specs?

And what can I do now? Is there anyway I could get the Uk version?

    Baddytime,
I just think they dont really care about specs on the websites. I just ordered 2 rackets from APACS Canada and sadly, one of them was out of stock. The guy from APACS Canada (Kam Yau) was cool and asked me if it was O.K if the rackets would come from APACS Hong Kong. I replied :
" If the rackets from HK are the same quality as the ones from Canada, this is OK with me. "

    He answered :
    Yes ...
They are identical. HK Apacs is selling all CA version now ..
    Really appreciate your patient ...

    Thanks"

    Hope that info helps you!

First of all the rackets will be shipped from Hong Kong, and not from UK :p

I bought Lethal 90 and Slayer 99 special bundle because ive everything i could on APACS rackets and apparently they are more balanced/slightly headheavy AND stiff. That fits my playstyle.

I heard Lethal 70 and Tantrum 300 are really great rackets, but more headheavy than others, so im pretty sure i wouldnt like it. Oh and also, i think slayer 99 and lethal 90 looks a lot better than all other apacs :p Still kinda important to me since ive never tried APACS yet : im currently waiting for my order to try them!

APACS Canada had the Slayer 99 in stock, but not the Lethal 90 apparently. :)

Feel free to ask if you have any other questions!

How does the Tantrum 200, 300 and 500 compare? I know the 200 is known to be good but how does 300 and 500 compare to it.

The Tantrum 200 and 300 apparently have been given good reviews. They should be ok. My experience with the Tantrum 500 is.. well.. not postive. Strung and 28lbs.. smash a few times and the frame broke.. highly unusual for an apacs racket. Its suppose to withstand up to 38lbs?? Might be one of the rackets the got pass the quality control checks.. I'm not sure. I sent it back to apacs and we will see how they respond.. I know for a fact that I'm not the world greatest smasher.. in fact I consider myself a very mild smasher. But the frame broke anyway?? I sound like a broken record but I just dont see the logic of putting a soft player with a tough racket.. and yet it broke!!
