In my opinion...going to Bath is wasting time and money....I mean if Hafiz does well ..so what? he will meet LCW in 2nd round

Exactly! If I were BAM, I would withdraw Hafiz from the WC. Going to Bath for 2 weeks, then to Paris just to win 1 match and get owned by LCW. Surely BAM also won't allow Hafiz to beat LCW.

One thing about malaysian players...they play better and harder against their own, maybe benefit from training together, same food, same air they breathe, etc...I think from past meetings, LCW played hard to beat HH, not like he can cruise to win against other 2nd opponents. And HH would yo-yo against other players but play his best against LCW, that is what I seen in the past. So HH please yo-yo this one time, give LCW a pass to go through in the spirit of MAS Boleh:D

Even if HH is to win LCW, do you think that with his current ability now, he really can beat LCW?;)

this is probably the hardest thing any association can do

their own no.1 to meet no.2 in the 2nd round

that is, lcw to meet hafiz

if, bam now ask hafiz to withdraw because of that

what would he feels or the rest of the players

the same goes to china with lyb on bao and some of them

obviously this would make those players feel '2nd class'

any motivations and hard work during the preparation goes down straight to the drain

if fact, it will affect the whole team including the up coming junior

i say its not good to ask hafiz to withdraw

every player trains hard and he or she deserves the break

    take one example of tago

    before his first game

who in the whole world would think he can end up in the final?

If I were BAM, I would still send HH and withdraw him after the 1st round with a back, calf or double groin strain.

But think of the money being saved on his air ticket, accomodation for 2 weeks in Bath, and other expenses.

These can be used to send young players to the Vietnam GP, INA GPG, Korea GP later on this year.

If HH is such a huge liability to BAM and cost saving is on their agenda, then why keep him? If there is no intention to terminate his service then treat him just like any other players.

That way would be a much efficient cost saving method in the long run and not cutting corners by making him stay put at home for 1 or 2 tourneys.

yes you are right that way money can be saved to be used for other development

but cost saving is one thing that can not mix with developing a world beater

if there is this kind of cost saving plan in bam

every player accept the top one has to pray for a good draw beside training hard year after year

do you think it does more good than harm in the long run?

If Hafiz is to be drawn with other players like Chen Jin or Bao Chunlai in R16, in my opinion, it's find to send him to Bath to prepare him for those matches. Since he had beaten those players before, who knows he's in "one of those days" form and beat them again to reach QF or SF.

But here we are talking abt meeting LCW again in R32....not even R16. All those expenses being spent just for him to win 1 match and go home?

and that 1 match cost a lot...

as i said earlier very hard decision for bam

if they really think of the players on a long term support.

right now i think bam has spent that money already

2010 BWF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS: HH to meet LCW in Round 2 ?

    .
Fortunately, Wong Choong Hann is not placed in the top half of the draw, where HH and LCW are found located.

Man, you are unlucky today:p:p. It's except my friend EXcept.

It's a rule that, the top 2 men from an association will be placed at top and bottom half of the draw each. So, yes, it's impossible for WCH and LCW to meet before finals(in theory).
