The teen star needs more time but not so long time considering her talent, determination and ambition. Barring any huge upset, the Olympic Champ should nail title here.

2018 YOG alumnus will facing off this evening, Chaiwan versus China new prospect Wang Zhiyi, an interesting tie between these two youngsters.

Chaiwan despite her short stature is bringing the shuttle down at every instance, such an attacking player. Remarkable.

Chaiwan vs Wang Zhiyi is like Ratchanok vs Chen Yufei...

WZY's movement and hitting motion are exactly CYF's.
Chaiwan's aggressive technical play is like RI's. (No wonder, since they're from the same club.)

Impressive, Chaiwan, watch out for her. I think she may be Thailand's answer to An Se Young.

Yesterday when I saw the results , I saw that chaiwan had ousted her compatriot pornapowee. That was an amazing result considering pornapowee's game. Now, I watched her match because if that. She is technically sound. Wang zhiyi has so many weakness when I watched her match today. Both of them has bright future.

She outclasses Wang Zhiyi who tends to be defensive player lately, relying more on her strokes and tactical play.
Well, Chaiwan lost two straight-games to the eventual champion Riko Gunji, latest Japanese talent in recent WJC, last month at Kazan.

Yup, only one tournament, can't predict what will happen next.

For such young players in their formative stage, a lot can change in one or two months.

Talking aboutWang Zhiyi, yes, she's too passive, relatively speaking, too much of a stroke player; she got to learn to take the initiative more and inject pace at the right time. I recall some time ago, she faced a similar situation against, I think, Iris Wang, who was attacking furiously just like what Chaiwan was doing just now but with a better defence (Chaiwan's) as well though WZY survived that onslaught narrowly, not this time against Chaiwan.

Actually, 19-yr-old Wang Zhiyi is also a player in transition and a promising one, she may break out one day. As for Riko Gunji, she is another young Japanese player to watch, very good potential.

Wang Tzu Wei takes out the fast, hard-hitting Soo Tech Zhi in two straight games, proving how unfit Shi Yuqi was in his match with STZ at the HK Open.

Chaiwan has good chance to make it breakthrough, marching into first ever final of BWF World Tour S300, on paper scenario possibly will face Carolina Marin.

HKG? It's Lucknow, first round exit. I guess more related to psychological factor, his confidence has not back yet.

Oops, sorry,I mean Syed Modi Open in R1. Thanks. Not only confidence issue, he came back too early after only 3 and 1/2 months injury layoff with surgery, unlike Son Wan Ho who took at least 6 over months and is coming back step by step, slow and steady.

Well done, Son Wan Ho, beating Srikanth in two straight sets, 21-18, 21-19, no mean feat. A good sign, we might see SWH fully match-fit by next January.

I can clearly say, srikanth wont be able to come back to his previous best , that's for sure.
India cant expect a medal from him considering his psychological breakdown.
First of all, let's see if at all, he could get selected for olympics to represent India.

With this Srikanth, anybody can practice Badminton and can learn to fine tune their technique. After all, they know the outcome , so no worries.
