I create standing alone thread for all eleven Super 300 tournaments, this level usually will be participated top 20 players, second stringers/back-ups, up and coming young talents also the comeback players from injury lay-off who find difficulty to shine in top tier BWF World Tour. Much more appealing line up than 2019 edition, thanks to Tokyo Olympic qualification period is still on that pushing some of top 10 players to earn and collect as many point as possible. Notable names had withdrawn, Chen Long, Mia Blichfeldt, Ivanov/Sozonov, Matsutomo/Takahashi, Polii/Rahayu, Puavaranukroh/Taerattanachai, Seo SJ/Chae YJ. Women's singles is the most interesting discipline to follow that offering highly competition with ensemble cast, Akane Yamaguchi, home favourite Ratchanok Intanon, the Olympic Champion Carolina Marin, Sung Ji Hyun, Saina Nehwal. QUALIFICATION (10.00am) & MD, WD R/32 (04.00pm) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...E5610C-87CD-4B0B-991A-44DBFC1F59E2&d=20200121
With this withdrawal, TakaMatsu look to have finally thrown in the towel. It will be NagaMatsu and FukuHiro featuring in the Olympics. WD B Teamers, Sakuramoto/Takahata, too, were originally slated to take part, ... but for some unknown reason have withdrawn.
GJW is back, see how she fair in her first tournament of the year since her injury for over half year...
Just a heads-up to let everyone know that Thailand Masters live streaming is available on BAT Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1OHmfgXr9UycHcIj_ptMkQ (All four courts in HD from day 1!)
Woww way to go and it's only Super 300. Last year Thai Association streamed all courts for Super 500 in HD from day 1. Well done BAT.
They follow BAM TV, great! As usual BWF Youtube Live Coverage for S300 event is only available on semifinal and final.
Ong/Teo won over Choi/Seo in straight sets. 21-11, 21-18. Still on fire.. while their expenses are still covered by BAM
it seems like CHN Huang/Liu is boogeymen to MAS Aaron/Soh as the latter are totally no answer at all...
This pair continue lacklustre performance, really allergic to MAS combinations in three consecutive tournaments. I guess China will bring their revamped pairs to accompany Li/Liu for Thomas Cup campaign instead of underperformed and unreliable Han/Zhou or He/Tan. Any regret from BAM? They're wearing Li Ning jersey now since turn to independent pair. Losing easily, the youngsters seem hard to break Huang/Liu defense and difficult to read the Chinese rolling and movement. Nice to see Goh Jin Wei makes comeback here after underwent colectomy surgery last October. The two-time WJC will take on Akane Yamaguchi at first round. ROUND OF 32 (10.00am) : https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/matches.aspx?id=D5E5610C-87CD-4B0B-991A-44DBFC1F59E2 *MATCH HIGHLIGHTS* - Sameer Verma (IND) v Lee Zii Jia (MAS) - Lin Dan (CHN) v Ng Ka Long (HKG) - Kidambi Srikanth (IND) v Shesar Hiren Rhustavito (INA) - Akane Yamaguchi (JPN) v Goh Jin Wei (MAS) - Carolina Marin (ESP) v Kim Ga Eun (KOR) - Aya Ohori (JPN) v Wang Zhiyi (CHN) - Line Kjaersfeldt (DEN) v Saina Nehwal (IND) - Faizal/Widjaja (INA) v Phuangphuapet/Amitrapai (THA) - Alimov/Davletova (RUS) v Ellis/Smith (ENG)
The hype train for Han/Zhou and He/Tan was huge back in 2018, they won some of the superseries title iirc and both of them defeated Gideon/Sukamuljo at least once. Fans here start crying out with joy they finally found pairs that can beat Gideon/Sukamuljo. They are younger, stronger, more athletic etc2. Almost two years later and here they are, lost in the first round of Super 300 tournaments to a lower ranked opponents.
An Se young is playing Han Yue now. I remember that An said that she had zero preassure on herself last year. I wonder if she's starting to feel some of that now, and if she's not quite mature enough yet to handle it. Granted, her ranking is very good now, so she's probably handling it very well.
marin is overload? its the third tourney in third week, only malay final she didnt play. At the beginning of game 3, she's screaming when smashing. A sign of fatigue like last denmark open like frost did mention, her stamina is not the same like before acl
