CL's stock has been skyrocketing after the win over LCW in this year Korea Open. Some would think this is the end of LCW's era and CL will be ascending to the throne. I believe LCW has a plan and his mission is winning the 2014 WC. He is laying low now and he will be peaking at the time of the 2014 WC. I still believe LCW will outclass CL if they meet in any major this year.
WC14 is in DEN, both CL-LCW and LD play well in Europe, so far neutral setting. If CL meets LCW in the final, CL has the H2H edge, mentally CL knows he can beat LCW and playing LCW it brings out the best in CL. The concern is whether CL can zoom right into the final, CL has a tendency to lose early. Then, we have LD coming back in March 14 to play, what if LD qualifies for WC14? That will be real interesting, as LCW may have to beat either or both to win, not easy thingie.

CL is good, make it great when he plays LCW. As I said, he is not consistent and in MO14, this chap crashed out. LYB knows he needs SuperDan to come to CHN's rescue.
from the way he played at the TC. he will have to go home and do a lot work to get back to his prior form.
Hhahahhah the second reason can be correct.. Although what I believe is they will not face each other in the finals... Either if them must/should/may/can Loose to somebody In the early stages
Yup, without LD participation this is the best chance for Lee CW to win WC title, Chen L performance is showing negative trend and doubtedly he'll be back to top form.
Short answer - Of course he can. Longer answer - CL needs to get out of the rut first, and make sure he doesn't get upset by others ...... My bet is you guys could be concentrating too much on CL and LCW, only to find that suddenly someone else soars to the World Title ...... wakakakakaka.
like what happen in thomas cup, almost everyone claim about CHN vs INA in final, but Japan who get title.
Will CL meet LCW in the final? It is more than 50% they will meet with all the withdrawals and of course the absence of LD. No matter what happen, there will be a new champion. Will CL prevail?
with no Kenichi Tago on Chen Long's way while no Simon Santoso on Lee Chong Wei's way, they will definitely meet each other in final, unless one of them being knock out around early rounds to semifinals...
Santoso was not going to face LCW. It was Boonsak Pontana (which is too far past his career peak to pose a threat to LCW anyway). Then it's WZM and Jan O waiting in the quarters and semi. ---- I watched Jan O in practice up to the championships, I honestly think he's a contender for the gold. He seems to have moved his peak level a notch up, being able to play even faster and more attacking than usual. Physically he's as fit as ever (and usually he's in better shape than his opponents). With no LD and KT in the field, and LCW and CL seemingly not at their very best, I feel this is Jan O's big chance to shine. It will be exciting to see, if he can keep his composure - there's a lot of pressure and expectations on his shoulders for this tournament, something he's not use to cope with (at least not to this degree). In CL's half, the absence of KT makes his path easier of course. But he'll probably face Zwiebler, Ouseph, Vittinghus and Sugiarto in his next matches - all good players but with the exception of Sugiarto, not players that really have a chance to go all the way. Personally I hope to see Sugiarto take down THW in the quarters, to avoid the as always questionable Chinese matchup in the semis. I feel Chen Long would have an easy match vs. THW if they are to meet.
