Greetings,

The captain of the RMIT team, james_law90, has requested for CCC to have a Friendly Match with RMIT. It is in preparation for their team participating in the coming 2009 Australian Uni Games.

Last Sunday, 31-May-2009, I met Ball at MSAC after our CCC Sunday CATS at MSAC. He informed me that he was there for the RMIT Uni Games Training/Trial. I had a quick look and it looked like RMIT has a pretty strong team.

Many CCCers would remember Ball, Albert, etc.., their RMIT stronger players who have played with us at our CCC Wednesday Sessions at MSAC.

This thread will be sent to james_law90. He would inform us how our events would be organised. Let's see how many CCCers would be interested in this FM.

So, watch out for this thread as it progresses.

I shall be the the first one to raise my hand to support RMIT. ;););)

Cheers... chris-ccc

Hi Chris,

Thanks for starting the thread. Hope we can get a tournament organised. We are still in the process of selecting players to bring with us to the Gold Coast for the Uni Games, so I was thinking, we could arrange something in late July/early August.

Against CCC, I'll look to play my entire team of around 10-12, both males and females.

Hopefully we can get some CCC'ers to play,

James

Thanks James,

So it would be some time in late July or early August.

It's good that some of your top RMIT players, Albert, Ball, Leo, etc... have played at CCC before. So we know the strength of your team.

CCC shall try to organise a team strong enough to give your team a challenge. :p:p:p

Hi Chris,

How many players were you looking at playing?

We only have around 10-12 players in the team (as the maximum for each squad is 6 males, 6 females), though I'll be able to get some other players from other unis, though perhaps not as many as 30 (:

CCC-vs-RMIT Friendly Match: ShyYen is interested

ShyYen ... Great that you are interested. We shall talk more about this at our CCC at Aqualink Box Hill tonight, Thursday 04-Jun-2009.

Hi James,

CCC shall leave it to you as to many events (Singles/Doubles) RMIT would like to have for our Friendly Match.

About the Australian University Games, the last one that I was involved in was back in 2002, when it was held in Adelaide. I was the coach for the Central Queensland University Badminton Team, and I was there at the Games with the team.

In 2002 Adelaide, the format was 3 Singles and 2 Doubles. I wonder if the format has been changed since then.:confused::confused:

Do not worry about our line-up of our CCCers (as posted previously). It was meant to be a suggestion for our CCCers to participate.

You'll never know... We could get more than 50% of our CCCers listed there not able to make it for our FM.

Cheers... chris-ccc

Hi Chris,

That's good news. I didn't think we'd be able to find enough players to meet the list.

The AUG format is the same since you last went in 2002. It's still 3 singles and 2 doubles.

I'll get back to you with the numbers that are able to participate in around July, once the team has been finalised, and we're good to go (:

Is there a particular day of the week that CCC was wanting to play?

Of all our CCC venues, Friday night at Waverley is the best; more courts, less crowded.
Perhaps, your players might want to play at your RMIT venue.
.

Hi Chris,

RMIT play at MSAC, so thatmay be a little far for your players to travel. I thinnk Friday Night will be fine. Some of my players finish uni at around 5ish, so if we start at around 7, that should be good.

I'll contact you in July to further get the tournament underway (:

Can you please email me your phone number.

Thanks
